Covid hit me hard and I'm still dealing with it
Added 2022-05-22 17:35:35 +0000 UTCFive weeks ago I went down hard with flu-like symptoms. It's not easy to find covid tests where I live but I quarantined anyway to be safe. It didn't take long to realize it was covid without a test. Headaches, body aches, and I lost my sense of taste and smell.
It was brutal. Way more than a cold. Like the worst, longest-lasting flu I ever had. I was down for 10 days and quarantined for 14. Couldn't write or read during that time due to brain fog (and I was usually out cold). I could barely watch TV. I did watch some Ozark (no spoilers!—I'm not caught up yet) and a movie, but mostly I just lay there.
The worst circumstances came after quarantine. Lingering brain fog, cardiovascular trouble, and strong fatigue.
I'm fit for my age and healthy otherwise, but I had real heart trouble after covid. The weeks after I got out of bed saw my heart rate spiking while walking. Wild numbers like 180bpm just walking up a hill. And then the fatigue—especially sitting at a computer. One second you're fine, the next you're falling out of your chair half asleep and laying on the floor. I was taking four hour naps midday and sleeping almost ten hours every night.
Anyway, my heart rate is finally back to normal and the fatigue hits me about every three or four days, but I'm mostly back to work now.
Sorry for the silence and absence—I sometimes suffer mental stress dealing with health issues and I shut down.
I don't have many hours in a day to get writing done right now. I'm struggling to get my day job duties done, but things are looking up.
I'm not sure I have the brain power to divine Devil In The Waters's oily depravity right now, but I do have content that I will upload for you. I've got more edited Cherry Blossoms, and I can begin uploading chapters of the story with the South African ballerina, as well. That will give me some time to get caught up with the day job, to deal with this lingering covid (that is getting better every day), and when I'm feeling 100% I can continue with Josh and Kimmy and Devlin.
So, I hope you all stay safe and healthy out there and watch out for covid and the monkeypox. I was double-vaxxed and that little motherfucker knocked me out good!

2022-05-27 13:45:57 +0000 UTCThere are worse things than lingering covid symptoms, but yeah, the fatigue is irritating and affects my life a lot. Hope you're doing better now!

2022-05-27 13:43:30 +0000 UTCThank you, Wess. I was surprised by how severe it was given we're into Omicron now and I'm double-vaxxed. I don't think I would have made it if I got the original virus (hyperbolic, yes, but maybe not).

2022-05-27 13:43:10 +0000 UTCI just lost one of my beloved mama goats during childbirth (kid birth?) So things aren't on track just yet! Thank you for the kind words, Donkatsu.

2022-05-23 11:57:02 +0000 UTCI got it 3 weeks ago. Double vaxed & boosted. I took Plaxovid. Worked for me. 2 weeks out and feeling ok. But for 3-4 days I felt awful. Depressed actually. Never had anything like it. I’m sending positive vibes your way. Take your time. I miss you. ❤️

2022-05-22 23:22:26 +0000 UTCOuch! As others have stated, I had a feeling something like this was going on. Take the time you need and get better! Kimmy can wait a few more weeks to let her evil out, she's patient like that. Get better, KT!

2022-05-22 22:08:14 +0000 UTCI’ve spent the last week in a COVID fog myself (tested positive last weekend). The fatigue is real! Luckily have not had any too-wild symptoms. Take the time you need—appreciate the heads up with what has been going on. Some rough months.

2022-05-22 21:45:09 +0000 UTCVery sorry to read that kt but I suspected something like that. CoVid can be horrible even when vaccinated. My family caught it about a month ago (Omnicrom and all triple vaxed) but my wife and daughter were really knocked about like you. Still not 100%. Do what you have to to get better. We’ll still be here.
