DITW 11-16: Stakeout
Added 2023-09-21 02:00:39 +0000 UTCWhen he saw Kimmy coming through the glass doors of the apartment building’s lobby, pushing them open and trotting down the steps, he couldn’t conceive of how she knew he was there. His heart pounded in his chest and his eyes focused into crystalline life-preserving perfection. He could see the determined look on his wife’s face, the set jaw, the quick stepping feet down the stairs onto the parking asphalt; the jostle of her breasts, the stride of her long, elegant legs. Guilt and shame exploded in an enormous psychic geyser, and he clutched at his chest as if he were entering cardiac arrest. His fingers tingled while blood pounded and whooshed in his ears—all this in mere seconds, startled out of a tortured yet quiet reverie.
He scrambled to push his dick back into his pants. He hadn’t been jerking it, but he might as well have been. The implication of a man sitting in a parking lot with his dick out didn’t need a lot of angles and facets—no one sought an easier, ameliorating explanation. They put you on a list.
He pushed it down and under his fly, darting a look to see how close she was, but she wasn’t coming. She hadn’t figured him out. She hadn’t known what he was up to.
He cursed under his breath at the fright she had given him. In one split second, he’d come face to face with the depths of his own depravity. He could see through Kimmy’s eyes what she would witness, and it disgusted him. But alas, all for naught. Because Kimmy didn’t march up to the Qashqai and ask him what he thought he was doing. Didn’t say there were children in the building or that Sophie could be around. Didn’t say, “You’re a total pervert and your perversion has gone too far.” No. She went to her Leaf and opened the hatch.
He watched now from the shadows of his car cabin, the window slid all the way down, cool October air buffeting his face. And he watched Kimmy, and she rummaged in the cargo. Maybe a gym bag. It was a bag of some kind; a zippered one. One she would bring along to yoga or to the fitness center. Not that she had much time for that these days, since she began working for Devlin. No, since she was working for Devlin maybe she burned calories in a whole different manner.
He palmed his erection under his pants again, watching her. What was it she came down for? What did Kimmy and Devlin need during their borrowed-apartment tryst? What could she have forgotten? Kimmy transferred an item from one bag to another, the other one a canvas shopping bag she’d bring into the store when she stopped to pick up a few unexpected grocery items Whatever she came down for, it went into this shopping bag. It looked heavy; a bottle of wine perhaps, to be shared by two lovers by candlelight. No, a bottle of whiskey. That made more sense. That was where her tastes skewed these days, all because of Devlin Stone.
He flinched when Kimmy looked over her shoulder, left and right, and he was sure he’d been spotted, but Kimmy went back to business, putting now a towel from what had to be her gym bag into the shopping bag. What do you need a towel for? Clean up on Aisle Devlin, that’s what she needed it for. Maybe she didn’t want to dirty any of Hyun’s towels. He was sticking with whiskey—it made more sense. If there was a necessary clean up in—
Shit. Kimmy looked over her shoulder again, not left and right this time, only to the right, looking right at the Qashqai.
He sank further into the shadows, wishing the window was up and casting back a glare to her like when you wore mirrored sunglasses—but she went back to work, putting the key fob in her pocket, slamming the hatchback lid down, looking left and right again, walking . . . then slowing and turning around and looking right at the Qashqai.
Now he’d been caught. She’d seen the Qashqai, but didn’t fathom how her depraved husband might be in it, skulking and watching. But her subliminal mind had worked while she tucked an expensive whiskey bottle to gift to Devlin for the magnificent fucking he just delivered, and then it hit her. That was the Waters’ Qashqai.
“Oh fuck,” he said under his breath, first instinct driving his hand to the car’s push-button start and thinking he could put the pedal down with the car in gear and get out of here before he got caught, but he stalled, picturing how that would look. Guilty times ten. He’d be even more depraved in Kimmy’s eyes.
And hold on just a fucking second. Kimmy was up to no good, as usual, and he had nothing to hide. He stuck his forearm out the window, rested it on the sill and leaned aside until his face felt the bath of moonlight.
Kimmy looked angry, rolling up the shopping bag and tucking it under an arm as she marched directly to him A myriad of defenses raced through his mind, things he would say, things he could explain himself with, theories and formulas. Maybe even go after her. And why the hell not? Why wouldn’t he go after her? It was her fault he was sitting in this parking lot.
She spoke a dozen feet before the Qashqai, beginning the argument before their eyes could even meet. “What are you doing here?”
He said, “I went out for a drive,” cold and flat and unbothered.
“Why are you parked out here?”
“I felt like stopping, put my thoughts together.”
She crinkled her nose derisively. “Oh yeah? What are you thinking about?”
“What’s it to you? Why do you sound mad?”
“Why do I say I’m mad, Josh? Because you’re parked out front of Hyun’s apartment, like you’re spying on me. I just texted you five minutes ago and said that I was sleeping over. You didn’t say anything about, oh, you know, where you were, like you were right outside.”
“It’s too much to type.”
She shook her head and came closer, peering into the Qashqai.
“What?” he said, defensive.
“Why are you sitting out here?”
“I told you I was out for a drive. I didn’t know you were going to come out ad see me here.”
“I don’t know what you think you’re doing. Why are you following me around?”
He scoffed. “Gosh, I don’t know. Why would I follow you around? I must be out of my mind.”
Kimmy pursed her lips, jaw muscles flexing. “What are you doing, Josh?”
“What do you think I’m doing?”
“I don’t even know what you’re doing You could be doing anything.”
He chuckled, an honest reaction of total disbelief at Kimmy’s incredulity. “Like what? Yeah, why would I do something like this? I’d have to be out of my mind. I wonder what drove me crazy?”
One hand on her hip: “Did I drive you crazy? Is that what you’re saying?”
“A normal person doesn’t sit outside an apartment his wife is visiting.”
“So you’re saying you’re not normal?”
“Yeah, that’s what I’m saying,” he said and rolled his eyes, gripping the steering wheel, thinking back how it might have been a better idea to push that start button and peel out, burn some rubber.
“You’re your own worst enemy,” she said.
“What’s in the bag?”
Kimmy squeezed the bag tighter in the crease of her elbow. “This? What do you think it is? What did your crazy imagination come up with?”
He said, “A bottle.”
“I just told you I’m staying over at Hyun’s. I was grabbing some of my stuff out of my gym bag. Is that okay?”
“How’s Hyun doing?”
Kimmy screwed up her mouth, eyes narrowing, studying him, scrutinizing eyes that bore into him. “Is that it? You don’t think I’m here with Hyun? That’s what it is, isn’t it? Are you crazy?” Her eyes narrowed, and she looked stunned, and for a second he did feel really stupid.
He squeezed the steering wheel, saying, “I asked you how Hyun is doing.”
“Hyun’s fine. We’re having a good night. So good in fact that I thought I that I might just stay over. We’re gonna stay up late, watch some K-drama, and I would probably fall asleep, so I texted you to let you know that I would be home in the morning. I’m going to have to get up at like four-thirty. You don’t trust me to stay out at Hyun’s apartment until four in the morning?”
“Is Sophie there?”
“Sophie’s at a sleepover.”
“How convenient.”
“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me, Josh. How convenient?” She clucked an indignant sound in her throat and crossed her arms. “Why don’t you come up and say hi to Hyun? Why don’t you come up and make a big fucking fool of yourself—and of me, by the way. My husband coming to check up on me. I told you how things were going to go. I told you what we were going to do. I told you how I feel about you,” she said, dragging out the word feel in a long, pleading note and putting a hand to her chest, light glimmering on the surface of her wedding ring. “I told you all that, and this is what you do. You are your own worst enemy.”
“Yeah, you said that already.”
“Yeah, I said it—but you need to hear it. What are you sitting here thinking about? What are you sitting here concocting in your head? You make everything worse. You make everything so much harder than it has to be.”
“I do? How much did I lie? How much did I lie about what was going on?”
“You don’t even remember, do you?”
He frowned and studied her face, looking for meaning. “Remember what?”
She shook her head and turned her face up to the moon. “Never mind,” she said under her breath
“No, what do you mean? I don’t remember what?”
“Look, Josh, this is fucking crazy. I come out here and I find you spying on me. Stalking your own wife. I’m here for a night out with your cousin’s ex-wife. I Thought Sophie was gonna be here. I thought it would be the three of us girls, but it’s just the two of us And the two of us are going to stay up late and we’re going to watch TV.”
“You two sleeping in the same bed again?”
“Oh my god,” she growled, raising her voice. “What the fuck does that mean? Seriously, Josh? What the fuck does that mean?”
“Nothing,” he said, grumbling to himself.
Kimmy got closer to the car, looking in the window again, seeing what he was up to in the cabin of the Qashqai. “What are you doing in here?”
“Nothing. Sitting.”
“Sitting and doing what?”
“Thinking about you.”
“Just driving around thinking, and you ended up here.” She stepped back from the Qashqai, looked up to Hyun’s apartment. “Were you watching us through that window?”
“I can’t see in the window, Kimmy. It’s like fucking way up there.”
“But you would if it was lower, wouldn’t you? You’re fucking crazy. You’re really fucking crazy.”
“No, I’m not,” he said. “It’s crazy to me that you think that this doesn’t make sense. How could you not see? How’s it come to this? And how can you put it on me? And what’s this remember shit? What does that mean?”
She came closer again, leaning on the Qashqai and looking in the cabin. “Are you jerking off in here? I Swear to God, Josh.”
“I’m not jerking off. Don’t be stupid.”
Kimmy persisted. “What are you thinking about?”
“I’m wondering what you’re doing. That’s what I’m sitting here thinking about. I’m thinking how you said we’re in trouble.”
“You’re making everything worse with your imagination. The things you concoct in your head are ten times worse than what really happens And why are we in this, anyway?”
“Why are we in this? Gosh, I don’t know, Kimmy. What could it be? What could have brought us here?”
“You. You brought us here.”
Now he raised his voice. “I did?”
“Josh, don’t start.”
“I’m not starting. I don’t want to do this at all. I didn’t know you were gonna come down, I was content to just sit here.”
“Well, I’m down now And I’m standing here and I’m looking at you in our car spying, looking through the windows.”
“You guys moved to the bedroom early.”
Now she got so close her face loomed in the window. She said, “You are jerking off.”
“No, I’m not.”
“Show me your dick.”
In total shock and disbelief, he said, “What?”
“Take your dick out and show it to me.”
“What the fuck are you talking about?”
“Josh,” she said, sniffing, “if your dick isn’t hard, if your dick wasn’t hard right now, you’d be jumping at the chance to snatch it out and wiggle it at me.”
He grunted, his heart jumping at her lewdness. “Wiggle it?”
“Take it out. “
“Go back to see Hyun. Go back and cuddle up in her bedroom.”
“You’re really making me mad now, Josh,” she said in an even and grave tone. And for the first time in this interaction, he felt dirty and guilty and really stupid. She said, “Take it out and wiggle it.”
“Don’t be crude.”
“Do it Josh. Prove it.”
“Just go away. Go back up. I’m going to go home.”
“No. I want to see it.”
“Don’t...”
“Josh, take it out.”
“I wasn’t jerking off. I was just driving around and I stopped here. You texted me. I said, yes, sleep over. And I was going to sit here for another minute and then go get something to eat and go home.”
Kimmy shook her head, saying, “I don’t believe it for a second.”
“Well, it’s true, so tough shit.”
“Show me that dick, Josh. Show me your dick.”
He said, “Are you trying to be funny?”
“I don’t think there’s anything funny about this, Josh. I know I’m right. . . . What if I reach in there? What if I just reach in and check? What am I going to find?”
He wiped at his brow and saw the answer flash before him. “Well, yeah, it’s hard now. You saying you want to see it.”
“You don’t want me to see it? You don’t want me to touch it?”
He folded his arms and gave her a get-serious look.
“I’ll do it, Josh. Tell me what you were really thinking, I’ll put my hand between your legs, and you can tell me everything you thought, sitting out here. Every terrible thing that drives you so crazy you get hard as steel.”
She leaned further in through the window, his hand brushing her chest. He looked away, looked down, mumbled complaint to himself, and found his thumb searching for the shape of her nipple under her top. He found it, found the hardened shape pressing from under the cotton.
She said, “Take it out.”
“Stop, Kimmy. I can’t do something like that here.”
“You’ve always got an excuse to stop yourself from having fun.”
“I don’t think any of this is fun,” he said.
Kimmy shifted, stuck her arm into the Qashqai, leaning in, her face close to his. Her hand went down his front, between his legs, and grabbed a handful of cock bulge. When she squeezed, his naked erect cock popped out of his unzipped fly and stuck to her palm.
“Holy fuck,” she said, so close to him he could feel her soft breath on his cheek. “You were doing it. I fucking knew it. Down here jerking off.” Her hand slunk around his cock and he groaned with terrifying delight. “This little thing has caused so much trouble. This little thing has made our lives so difficult.” She pumped her hand up and down, and, right away, her grip went slick with his pre-cum. “Out here jerking off. I told you how it was, but you can’t let it go. You’re out here thinking, thinking, thinking. Thinking and thinking all kinds of dirty, dirty things that I’m not doing. And you think it’s me? You think it’s my fault?” She squeezed his cock and ran her thumb pad across the slippery slit, making him jolt and bounce his knees.
She kissed his temple. “I’ll be home at four-thirty. If you’re awake, maybe I’ll put your little thing to use.”
She stepped back with the bundled shopping bag held under her arm, head cocked, inclined in a sympathetic angle. She smiled in a way that could have him believe that this was a kind and generous act. Kimmy could make him believe anything.
She said, “I’ll see you in the morning. Good night, Josh,” turned and walked away, clicking the fob in her pocket and locking the Leaf as she passed, trotting up the steps, and through the glass doors into Hyun’s building, unlocking the main door with Hyun’s key.

I agree Andrew. I hope it's a BTB ending.

2023-10-14 12:55:32 +0000 UTCI like the oscillation in character portrayal that this chapter brings. How it muddies the waters between villain and hero, and who the "victim" is; if there is one. We've had a few recent chapters showing Kimmy's character flaws, casting her as the villainess in contrast to "poor Josh." Recent chapters show her stepping further and further into the "Dark Side," as RCH aptly commented. But this chapter reminds us of Josh's flaws. He's not really "poor Josh," some noble, guiltless paragon of a husband. Josh stalks, lies to, manipulates, slut shames, and gaslights Kimmie relentlessly. He's visited Devlin in secret, done kinky things for and with Devlin that he's hid from Kimmy, asked his cousin to stalk Kimmy, and now stalked her himself. Kimmy, finally embracing her dark side, may be a beautiful Darth Vader (a wicked villain), but Josh is definitely no Luke Skywalker (a noble or innocent hero).

2023-10-02 17:09:15 +0000 UTCI get it kt and thanks for commenting. Part of it was my emotional reaction to that chapter, but I did think Josh let Kimmy walk all over him in their exchange at the car. He tried to hold his ground but failed miserably.

2023-09-27 20:28:49 +0000 UTCOmg, it’s hardly drivel, KT! Your writing always has me on the edge of my seat. Erotic yes, but also so much more. The character arcs, the emotions, and in this story, the mind games. 🤯 Every time you post a new chapter my stomach drops. I’m so nervous to read where the story is going. Your attention to detail is also spot on, and make the stories feel real. The Superstore in Ajax…I had been there the day you posted the chapter where Kimmy runs into Hyun. The bakery I shop at is inside the courtyard (Book 5) where Kimmy and Devlin fool around during Josh’s party. I was there picking up a cake, and had to remind myself that it wasn’t real life! Lol The attention to the details, and character development is what sets you apart from all the authors in this genre.

2023-09-27 13:44:06 +0000 UTCIn some ways Josh is strong: he has beefy endurance, that's for sure. He onboards so much and redistributes the additional weight like a champ.

2023-09-27 13:39:48 +0000 UTCAdmission: a book or two ago I toyed with the idea, but saw soon I couldn't do it. But the idea has legs in a different way... (purposely cryptic). I jotted down in a notebook the question of What if? But I did some research and it wouldn't be possible without help from an outsider. Josh first texted with "whomever" and Kimmy was oblivious behind him in the kitchen.

2023-09-27 13:28:50 +0000 UTC@Tracey52 Is Josh weak as piss when she's making his darkest and wildest dreams come true, ha ha? :) Why would he stop what his dark-half demands?

KT Morrison
2023-09-27 13:17:23 +0000 UTCMy opinion, she's already there. Only because I can't imagine a person seducing one of their best friends so they can use them as a lever to gain leverage over their husband as a stop gap against a worst case scenario of said husband asking for a divorce. For Kimmy to have thought that up, given it the mental green light and then enacted it like we saw. She's already decided whatever it takes in her book truly means whatever it takes, nothing is off the table.
L_S87
2023-09-26 19:59:58 +0000 UTC“She'd rather have him broken and subservient than not have him at all.”That’s it in a nutshell. Once she consciously faces up to that (she may already be there) he’d better run fast or he is doomed.
CSH
2023-09-26 19:33:15 +0000 UTCI don't think so? Mostly because, just like her comments of not remembering what he asked for here, it would be impossible to compartmentalize such knowledge from the readers for so many books. If Kimmy were to do something that awful so early, there would be zero chance of her not thinking about it at some point in her numerous mental monologues while ruminating on her actions with Devlin, how they affect her relationship and what it would mean to Josh if he found out. I wouldn't call it impossible for the story to go that way, but like I said in my first post on this chapter, I feel KT is too good of a writer not to see the inherently poor storytelling in having such a momentous thing occur and yet improbably and basically impossibly having it not discussed for 10+ books given how often we have a window into Kimmy's internal thoughts. It's why I lean towards these things being perpetuated by Amy. She dislikes Josh and has shown a propensity for playing games like this.
L_S87
2023-09-26 18:42:00 +0000 UTCYep. There's a reason she did what she did in this chapter. She was pissed, he got pissy right back and nothing she was saying was cowing him, so she did exactly what worked a few chapters ago, used his kink against him to win the argument. I think there's a part of her that hates herself for doing it, because she knows it's not right for Josh and is not respecting him the way she says she does, but the ends justify the means for her. Keeping Josh is more important than protecting his fragile psyche. She'd rather have him broken and subservient than not have him at all.
L_S87
2023-09-26 18:29:24 +0000 UTCWell she’s certainly worried that he will divorce her once he figures out Devlin got her pregnant. She thinks he has that much backbone left in him. Though she’s planning on crushing that little bit of resistance out of him as soon as possible. She knows Josh will never buy the “It was only the tip” bullshit she fed Hyun.

2023-09-26 15:30:12 +0000 UTCIs this the new Josh model? I just love your writing, KT.
Kat
2023-09-26 14:17:30 +0000 UTCMaybe 50/50, KT? I would like to think given Josh's fire at the beginning and his suspicions causing him to tail her like a perp, that if he knew the full depth of her duplicity, deception and betrayal that he'd have the strength to pull back and be more objective. Clearly that is Kimmy's fear and why she is doing what she's doing over the last few chapters. So if she, who knows him best, thinks it's a prime possibility, then I feel like a good portion of how he views Kimmy is his fantasy making her out to be the women of his dreams: dominant, sexy yet uniquely loving in a way he needs. He doesn't know the full truth so he doesn't see the despicable and heinous actions she's already committed and the depth of her depravity.
L_S87
2023-09-26 01:21:06 +0000 UTCYes, Kimmy has fully embraced the Darkside. Full Vader mind fuck on all around her. Josh and Haun all for her purpose. Wow in this last chapter she is taking joy in the control for control sake.

2023-09-22 22:50:51 +0000 UTCIn rereading this story. It starts out with Devlin as the main bull villain (Sith Lord) as he begins his seduction of Kimmy. Kimmy also did despicable things like not tell Josh of her seduction at the reunion party. But half way through after her torrid affair with Devlin. Kimmy at this point in the story has emerged as the main Sith Lord graduating from apprentice! I think Kimmy and Devlin belong together at this point! Both are shitty human beings and I hope Josh gets out of the relationship while he still can. I fear Kimmy is going to drive him to suicide with her sexual mind games!

2023-09-21 22:00:07 +0000 UTCI think in this instance we'll just have to agree to disagree. I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that *everyone* would react the way Kimmy did. I think most people would realize they just got caught cheating and act VERY guilty. She didn't because she's a consummate professional when it comes to lies and manipulation. Plus, as I said before, Josh being there is destroying her plans. She's not mad about the jerking off, she's mad that him being there means her plans to "save" their marriage is going off the rails.
L_S87
2023-09-21 18:14:42 +0000 UTC100% Right that Josh's actions are far from okay and as I said, it shows what an awful emotional state he is in that he seemingly can't control himself. Also never said it wasn't a problem, because it is. It's indicative of how horrific things have become between he and Kimmy that following her and then fantasizing seems reasonable until he gets caught. But that's the whole point. That's why I think Kimmy being angry is hypocritical. She played the leading role in his mental deterioration to this point. So for her to be angry as if it's all on him and in his head as if she had nothing to do with it is the utmost hypocrisy. Yes, he makes his own choices, so does she, but as with any partnership, your actions heavily influence your partners responses. Is she responsible for his actions and him making a piss poor choice to jerk off in a parking lot? Hell no. That's his choice. Is she responsible for creating a marriage so devoid of compassionate caring and honesty that his mental state is now atrocious? Oh yes. And her lack of understanding that her creation of this abomination that is now their marriage is what has lead to him being in that parking lot and showing anger at his tailing her like a crime suspect is hypocritical.
L_S87
2023-09-21 18:06:44 +0000 UTCNo one is saying Josh isn’t justified to be angry. I’m just stating he needs to be stronger than to have his dick out in a parking lot of an apartment complex. Seems odd to me you don’t see that as a problem cause I’m pretty sure that is illegal. Wether he is looking in the window or not. And yeah he can’t see in Hyun’s window doesn’t mean he isn’t facing another unit’s window so it appears as if he’s jerking off to someone. Again Josh is 100% justified to be pissed he is just manifesting it poorly. If you pissed that bad and don’t trust your spouse leave. You have no kids, won’t have to pay alimony and you can split the assets.. not hard.
Chinookfan72
2023-09-21 17:39:55 +0000 UTCI disagree. Just because she doesn’t immediately hit him with the allegation doesn’t mean she doesn’t suspect it from the beginning and her initial questions are to confirm her suspicions. She just better at this than Josh is. You are failing to realize my point though which is if any of us were Kimmy in this situation we’d do the exact same thing wether it’s right wrong or indifferent. So it’s funny to me people are upset at her for doing the same shit everyone would do in this situation.

2023-09-21 17:36:19 +0000 UTCI think it's also important to note what Kimmy initially got angry about. She didn't get mad about him jerking off in the car. No she went straight after him tailing her and being his own worst enemy due to his imagination. You know, the one that was exactly right about her doing something suspicious with Hyun. Telling Hyun about her "indiscretions". She didn't even mention the jerking off until he went for her throat and blamed his suspiciousness and tailing on her behavior and lying. Then what did she do? She made it sexual, just like she always does when Josh gets angry or close to the truth. Just like she did a few chapters ago when he got angry about her and Devlin. You'll notice when she walked away she wasn't angry anymore. Why? Because she had won and she knew it. She made her point, put him in his place and was on top again. Hell, if she'd been angry about his masturbating, she wouldn't have referred to him as always having and excuse to not have fun.

2023-09-21 16:50:17 +0000 UTCAgain, vacuum chamber. If Kimmy had done nothing to engender him to be a "peeping Tom" (there's a lot more going on here than that and since he's not peeping anything that term is a bad description anyway) then the anger is completely justified. But she has. We have 10 books worth of actions leading up to this. So it's definitely about her being a hypocrite. If you constantly tease a dog until it bites you, do you place all the blame on the dog? Only if you're oblivious or a hypocrite. That said, she's not even angry about the "peeping" anyway. No, she's angry because he's ruining her plans by being suspicious and not rolling over like a good little boy and is instead tailing her because he doesn't trust her. If it was just about his kink, he could stay at home and imagine to his hearts content. He's not because he doesn't believe her. So now he's following her to verify. The fact he is so out of control that he can't seem to help himself once he starts spying on her and his imagination takes over is awful, but acting as if Kimmy had no part in Josh finding himself in such a disastrous emotional state is just silly.

2023-09-21 16:30:22 +0000 UTCIn the movie, “Gaslight”, Charles Boyer turns up the pressure on Ingrid Bergman when subtlety is less than fully effective. Kimmy is replaying that with Josh, exacerbating his kink, trying to extend the Devlin kink to Hyun. Eventually, someone has to crack. There is too much pressure on Josh and even Kimmy for this to continue indefinitely. I do not see Josh going along with the cuck/voyeur role. His desire to witness the OLS (obligatory lesbian scene in straight porno flics) is lower than Kimmy imagines. Karina and Meyer have yet to be heard from in this part of the story.

2023-09-21 16:06:05 +0000 UTCHer being angry at Josh for being a Peeping Tom doesn’t make her a hypocrite. Her being mad at Josh for cheating would make her a hypocrite. Josh is literally being reduced to a Peeping Tom so yeah he needs to have more self respect than that.

2023-09-21 16:02:53 +0000 UTCWe will see Devlin again. Kimmy lies to herself more than anyone else.
Glaucon
2023-09-21 14:36:48 +0000 UTCYeah, that's the issue with Kimmy. She blends truth and untruths so well that it's impossible to part fact from fiction. I tend to agree with you simply because if it were fact the story up to this point wouldn't support that narrative and would cause continuity issues, so we're pretty much left with it having to be a manipulation. Which gibes with everything else she said in that conversation. I know one thing. Kimmy would be a spectacular player on "To Tell the Truth".

2023-09-21 14:21:07 +0000 UTCStill a lot of questions: Will we see Devlin again? (Kimmy said it’s over) I highly doubt it is. Is this part of the Losing his Wife series? (Learning Lessons, Broken Blossoms) I think Josh would be happy to lose his wife once he finds out all Kimmys dirty deeds! Whatever happened to Kimmys friend Diane? (I think 🤔) Who was not a fan of Devlin. I could see Josh in a rebound relationship with her if things crumble apart between him and Kimmy. But those are just some questions I have.

2023-09-21 14:18:04 +0000 UTCI'd like to raise the possibility that Kimmy is actually not referring to anything at all and just manipulating Josh's doubt-filled mind to do the work for her. Honestly it could go either way to me, but this kind of gaslighting would feel completely in character to me.
Glaucon
2023-09-21 14:03:11 +0000 UTCIn this marriage, Kimmy is not in it with Josh. Usually it’s two people doing things together. For instance in the Landlord series, Charlie admits she made mistakes and Johnny admits he made mistakes but both admit to their love for each other. With this series Kimmy does everything behind Josh’s back, denies everything, and gaslights everyone. I don’t think she’s ever truly apologized when Josh initially found out and almost left her. In this marriage they are not in it together. Although I think Kimmy is trying to manipulate Josh to be a cuckold for her selfish sexual desires. This marriage has an expiration date. I’ll be shocked if they are still married at the end scene of the final book. But stranger things have happened🤣🤣

2023-09-21 12:32:03 +0000 UTCThis would be true, but only if you approach it from this one action in a vacuum chamber, ignoring the prior 10 books worth of evidence to the contrary. People aren't vilifying Kimmy for being angry, they are vilifying her because being angry makes her a massive hypocrite given her current plan for the night and acting as if all her lies haven't lead to Josh being suspicious. Josh has only done this twice. Both times Kimmy has, or in this case, is contemplating on cheating on him without being open and relaying her intentions. The first time he was a sobbing mess when he went home, this time he's angry and turned on and still a complete mess because *Kimmy has boiled him so hard* that yes, he's now just as fucking crazy as she accused him of being, if not for the reason she implies. There's a Grand Canyon sized difference from a paranoid husband following his wife who is innocently having a girls night with her friend and this. And that difference is 10 books worth of Kimmy Waters being Kimmy Chang and destroying Josh in the process.
L_S87
2023-09-21 11:11:08 +0000 UTCYour last part. I wonder if that was her plan all along and that's part of why she is pissed. Because she thinks Josh should have trusted her, that they are in a new place (she thinks) and that he should just be a good boy and obediently wait at home for her to come back and tell him her story, similar to a few chapters ago with the retelling of her and Devlin at the hotel. The new normal is her to do this and that's how she gets him acclimated and it becomes "acceptable". But that needs time, of course, and him not following her around being suspicious. I ponder on the thought of how Kimmy proceeds if that was her plan? Does she still go through with it with Hyun but then punish Josh by intimating but not actually telling him and use it as a carrot for him to play along in the future and get rewards for his kink? That would seem to go in line with her comment that Josh never lets himself have any fun. IE, just let this shit happen, stop overthinking it and let me be evil and awful, it's what you want anyway.

2023-09-21 10:59:28 +0000 UTCKimmy is the villain in this story..Period!!! Not Devlin...not Amy..Kimmy is the devil. There is not justification for her action which now get worst and worst. I love that Josh start to stand up a little but I don't want him to accept this. She means no good to him...Sorry this kink to me has be forced on him by manipulation. It is a means so Kimmy can have her cake and eat it too!..As the saying is said off with her head!

2023-09-21 10:03:31 +0000 UTCYes, she did tell the truth, sort of, multiple times. BUT, it was always backstopped by their game. Meaning she always did it while in the middle of them playing the game. So it gave her plausible deniability while giving Josh a mental "out" to assume it's just Kimmy coming up with stories to titillate him rather then bald faced truth. Here, Josh straight up correctly guesses what Kimmy is doing and she completely denied it and goes on the offensive to distract and deflect from the truth. Especially given what she has in the bags. I think you're right, though. She's definitely going to take her anger and sexual frustration out on Hyun. That last bit about her nipples being hard shows she's turned on about being caught and dominating Josh like this. She needs an outlet and I don't think she's going to wait until 4:30 to use Josh to relieve it.

2023-09-21 09:45:38 +0000 UTCI agree. Josh was as weak as piss.

2023-09-21 08:22:36 +0000 UTCYeah, I noticed that line. Hadn’t thought about the very first scene and that he may actually have asked for it then. Tend to agree we can’t get this far in before she brought it up. She did tell him the truth multiple times though. In Cayman after coming back from Devlin’s hotel room. In the car after the suit fitting. Both times Josh decided to believe it was just story time. Maybe that’s what she was getting at? Not sure. Absolutely agree she feels guilty. She is actually guilty, after all. And scared out of her wits by the pregnancy. Given what’s ahead of her I think she’ll get over it though. She’ll likely take out her anger on Hyun. So now we see Kimmy emulating Devlin and becoming just like him. Bullying Josh, preying on the innocent Hyun.

2023-09-21 07:42:22 +0000 UTCThis scene was perfect. Everything about it. Wow. It was the perfect dynamic for a fight like that. I like this turn, too. That Josh’s increasing defiance and her pregnancy are pushing her to ramp up the pressure on him and actually dominate him. The whole “little guy” thing. That Josh got himself caught beating off - accusing her of something she’s actually guilty of doing - but her making him think he was wrong and a pervert. Just a perfect scene. I think we can finally expect the humiliation of Josh to ramp up quickly from here. Now that he’s made his complete distrust of her apparent as well as his helpless addiction, she knows she’s got only one way left to control him and keep him. She has limited time as well. Oh and who wants to bet, she goes home, gets Josh naked on the bed and then tells him just exactly what she did to Hyun. Then fucks with his head by both implying it’s all a story and that it’s the truth.

2023-09-21 07:27:29 +0000 UTCI think the comments section here is almost as entertaining as the story. Everyone vilifying Kimmy for being pissed off as if you would be pissed off if your s/o was spying on you jerking off in the car. And yeah Kimmy is in the wrong for cheating but Josh has to have more damn self respect than to pull this pathetic move, and then to act as if what he is doing is normal. Ok.

2023-09-21 04:06:55 +0000 UTCWow, this chapter was golden KT! Josh was starting to stand up for himself but then Kimmy had to play mind games about him stroking off with his little duck . I almost thought Josh was going to tell Kimmy to fuck off, it’s over. From that conversation there is no way this marriage lasts. Kimmy is fooling herself. This is a marriage based on Kimmys lies! I hope when it does end it doesn’t end with forgiveness and Josh being a willing cuck for Kimmy and Devlin. I want Josh to do a revenge-fuck to pay Kimmy back ! Why does the chapter and picture remind me of the 80s song “Sunglasses at Night”🤣🤣🤣

2023-09-21 03:29:40 +0000 UTCOmg KT! I’m shaking from this chapter. This woman just gets worse. Josh has every reason to follow her lying, cheating ass around, and not believe a word that she says. This story has me so hooked. Love the picture of Josh! Thank you. I wanted to visualize him. Nice looking guy. I’m sure he could do better than Kimmy.
Kat
2023-09-21 02:57:15 +0000 UTCYou really think she’s feeling guilty? I hope you’re right. Somehow her horrifically, vile behaviour would be easier to take if I could believe there was an ounce of guilt within her.

2023-09-21 02:54:14 +0000 UTCI don’t even know what to say at this point.

2023-09-21 02:52:22 +0000 UTCThat "you don't even remember" line makes me think that what Devlin said Josh asked for, way back in book one, that actually happened. Although if it did, he was drunk as shit and there's no way you could hold it against him. That doesn't make much sense to me, though. While, yes, it would be a great twist to the storyline, I think it would be bad storytelling. There's no way we would get through this much drama and have it never mentioned by Kimmy, during all their shit, not once, if it were true. So to hold that revelation back to this point would be woefully contrived. So I'm thinking this is Kimmy playing mind games, as it makes no sense otherwise. And despicable Kimmy, acting outraged, wow is she a stone cold liar. Josh hits the nail right on the head of what she's doing and she doesn't even flinch. Just powers right through it and turns the tables on Josh. I think she's angry because she's feeling guilty and more so because Josh's actions here put pay to her internal thoughts that he's on the edge and she needs leverage to keep him together with her until she can "fix" it.
