DITW 14-10: Odyssey 5
Added 2024-04-23 19:51:25 +0000 UTCKimmy followed Hyun to the bedroom, but it was only to say good night. They stopped at the door and Hyun looked at her, frightened and timid, but still showing the tiniest smile.
Kimmy said, “I wish we could be together tonight.”
Hyun looked down the hall, then whispered, “I do, too.”
Kimmy smiled. “You’re very special to me.”
Hyun’s smile faded and her eyes bloomed with something large and wonderful.
Kimmy said, “I’d like it someday if we could, and we didn’t have to hide it.”
“I don’t want to put any pressure on you. I don’t want to put pressure on our, um, friendship. It is what it is.”
Kimmy nodded. “It is what it is.”
Beyond Hyun’s shoulder, she could see the bed where Hyun slept, and the bed where the two of them had shared intimacy. It would be wonderful to lie with Hyun tonight. Even if it were just to have their bodies touching under the covers. There was so much more she wanted, of course. So much more to be teased and tested. She wanted to show Hyun the video of Devlin. Let Hyun see Devlin’s magnificent cock in her satin panties; far too big a monster to be contained by something so feminine, her hand pulling it out, stroking it. She could picture Hyun disgusted by its sight. And there was something funny about that; amusing. Something that made her want to show Hyun, just so she could console Hyun afterward, stroke Hyun’s hair and tell her not to worry, that big, scary man-thing wasn’t hiding under the bed or in the closet, it wouldn’t try to claim her innocence while she slept. Other things, too. There was a distinct fantasy she had devised. One she and Hyun would explore when Sophie was next with Meyer, and she and Hyun had time alone. That was, of course, if Josh still exiled himself from the best game he had going. If she played her cards well, she could have them both, Josh and Hyun, enjoy both of their pleasures and comforts, and do them both well.
She said, “If I’m not in prison, I think we should look at getting you a bigger apartment.”
“Don’t say that,” Hyun said, soft features scrunched with worry.
Kimmy smiled and touched Hyun’s cheek, comforting her. It was good to joke about her current fortune. Dwelling on the reality would be too sobering. Too frightening.
“I don’t want you to worry,” Kimmy told Hyun, and then smiled like she had no care in the world. The only problem they faced was a lack of accommodation. Sophie could sleep with her mother in Hyun’s bed, but Kimmy was too tall for Sophie’s bed, so there was no point. “Promise me you’re not going to worry.”
Hyun looked down. “I can’t promise that.”
“Can you pretend?”
Hyun smiled a little and nodded.
“Thank you,” Kimmy said, looked aside to make sure there was no sign of Sophie, then dipped into Hyun’s bedroom and kissed her soft mouth. Hyun was reluctant, but wanted the kiss so much she allowed it, if only for a brief moment.
Kimmy stepped back into the hall. “I’ll be on the couch.”
“You can take my bed, Kimmy. I told you.”
“No, no. We already talked about it a million times. Just go to sleep and I’ll see you in the morning.”
Hyun nodded, showing a little more smile now, and closed the door. Kimmy stood for a moment waiting to see if Hyun felt adventurous and would call her in, but it didn’t happen, and that was okay. She could go home and sleep in her own bed, but right now she would prefer having company nearby, sleeping on Hyun’s couch, knowing she wouldn’t be alone in the morning.

Meyer, who didn’t even smoke, laughed so hard the cigarette nearly fell out of his mouth and fizzled in the hot tub. He plucked it from his lips, held it in the v between two fingers, and touched the neck of his beer bottle to Josh’s shoulder. “Right here, buddy. I can picture it. Somebody get me a sharpie and I’ll do a drawing for the tattoo guy to trace.”
One of the nurses said, “Or tattoo girl.”
Meyer showed her dubiety, narrowing his eyes at her over his shoulder and saying, “A woman? A woman tattoo artist? Yeah, right, like that’s a thing.”
The nurse doffed her cowboy hat and swatted him with it, and Meyer loved it, almost losing his cigarette again. Even Josh was laughing now, hunched over, the body of his own beer bottle submerged in the bubbling tub water. The tub was down to seven passengers in its therapeutic journey, seven of them still up at two in the morning with the stereo cranked. Karina laughed, too, though her eyes had gone sleepy in the last half hour. He nudged her knee under the water and said to her, “I told you not to smoke that joint.”
She assured him she was awake and sat straighter. Her eyes looked no more lively.
Meyer gazed at Josh’s shoulder and Josh lifted it from the water so his cousin could dream up how he saw this tattoo. Meyer said, “Yeah, I can see it. A crumpled office chair. Like the legs are broken. The seat is twisted away from the back. One of the wheels you draw over here, maybe by your nipple,” and then Meyer attempted the lamest titty-twister ever, taking the longest time to put his beer bottle into the hand with the cigarette so Josh could see the twister coming a mile away and turn his nipple out of reach. Meyer tried anyway, practically pleading for Josh to surrender the nipple for punishment. They wrestled lamely in the water until Quinn pulled Meyer away and stole his cigarette. “Hey,” Meyer said, dismayed, following the cigarette until he fell to Quinn’s bosom and she hugged him and smoked his cigarette.
Between puffs, she eyed Josh. “You’re the man, Josh.”
“What can I say?” Josh smiled, leaned back and put his arms over the lip of the tub, a man of leisure and accomplishment. “Don’t fuck with me when there’s office furniture around.”
“It’s true,” Meyer said. “I once saw him brain a kid with one of those old-timey typewriters. Fractured the kid’s skull like a farm-fresh egg.”
One of the nurses, sidling up next to Steve, looked horrified. “Really?”
“No,” Josh said. “He’s being a goof. I’ve never hit anybody before.”
“Not until the time was right, hey, Joshy?” Meyer winked at him from Quinn’s cradling bust.
“I’m the one who used to get hit. Not the other way around.”
Quinn said, “There’s a time and place for everything. I’m glad you acted.”
He grunted and nodded, leaning deeper into the tub, arms still outstretched, beer in hand. His head felt light and far away, like a mylar birthday balloon above colorful party favors for the birthday boy. He smiled. His heart did a steady lub-dub-lub-dub, slow, and a little burdened by alcohol, but altogether feeling kind of very good. He had done the right thing, hadn’t he? And, man, what if he hadn’t stopped? What if he’d kicked Devlin in his donkey dick and goat balls when Devlin had been down on all fours in a bath robe? Wouldn’t that have been something? It would have. And if he’d turned the tables with the P.I.? What about that, Joshy-boy? Imagine that one, old son. Rumble showing up on Devlin’s doorstep, Devlin unprepared, bewildered, wondering what his old friend and evil henchman was doing at his apartment at this hour, Johnny half in the bag, empty bottle of Jack in one meaty fist down at his thigh, shirt partly untucked, soaking wet from a rain storm, and old Johnny steps in a puts Devlin Stone in the fucking hospital. And whereupon Devlin awakens and must learn once more how to finish the alphabet. Nah, that one was too far.
Now Josh was chuckling, eyes closed, bringing his beer to his lips and draining it. Someone nudged his arm, and he looked to see one of Quinn’s beefy brothers passing him a shot glass of amber liquid and he took it and popped it back. Yes sir, the heavenly fire of oak-aged corn mash. It went down icy cold and wonderful. Quinn’s brother refilled it and this time Josh passed it over to Quinn, who took the shot glass and fed her boyfriend Meyer like a drunken baby. The sight of his cousin getting so masterfully mothered had him in sudden stitches. Meyer looked at him, chagrinned, his cousin’s hair going this way and that. Now Quinn put the cigarette down where Meyer could suck on that like a fresh teat, and Meyer did, puffing away, playing it up to make Josh laugh.
Quinn said, “What was it that finally made you snap?”
Josh asked her what she meant and Meyer said, “What happened that made you throw a chair at this piece of shit?”
Josh said, “Trust me, you don’t want to know.”
Quinn said, “No. We really want to know.”

On the phone’s screen, her own hand liberated the world’s biggest, sexiest penis from a pair of satin panties. It looked ridiculous in her elegant grip. And the ridiculousness was what excited her most. Devlin Stone was armed with a gargantuan weapon; a thing of incredible masculine beauty.
She could watch this video a hundred times. It was the most intense level of pleasure an innocent could conjure. A thing of bottomless betrayal. Something so dark and forbidden some would fear referencing it, doing so only in whispers.
But that was the wonderful depth of her depravity. A depth where only the most competent diver could descend.
It wasn’t the deed on the screen that aroused her, it was the context. And the context arrived through her sultry enticement; plans whispered to her big-dick lover. Promising to Devlin all of his darkest fantasies, painting with words a picture almost impossible to believe. Almost impossible. But she and Devlin had done wild things together; wild things behind her husband’s back. And in time, Devlin had let her know how it aroused him to lure Josh into their tryst. Devlin fantasized about Josh watching him fuck her with his big dick. Devlin fantasized about showing another man all the things he could do, his arsenal of sexual tricks and his hedonistic literacy. Devlin had thought he was the master. But it was Kimmy Chang or Kimmy Waters who orchestrated the pleasure for both men. It was she who owned their dicks and their brains and played their desires like a piano. Maybe Josh wanted what Devlin wanted. And wouldn’t that be grand? Wouldn’t that be a salvation? For she had made clumsy mistakes at first, back when Devlin’s surprise appearance in her life dropped a line down the deep well of despair she’d fallen into. A dark and dingy bottom-hole where she wove baskets and hid from the world. Half way up the rope she started to climb on her own, no longer content to be lifted. Soon she wanted all that Devlin had because Devlin didn’t deserve it. Devlin wasn’t smart enough to stop her. Wasn’t smart enough to think a woman like her wanted more than to lift her skirt and have her big bad businessman boss give her what he knew was the good stuff. Devlin couldn’t comprehend he wasn’t enough as a man to satisfy a woman like her.
But now the video got to the good stuff, and under the blanket her fingers moved quicker. Soft wet sounds crackled from inside her panties as her eyes narrowed and she tuned to the words she spoke to Devlin. Devil’s promises. Promises so sweet and lurid she could coax a prideful man into the same panties he’d bullied her husband for wearing. This was what aroused her. Dominance. Mastery.
Her knees bowed in and out as she listened to her sweet spoken covenant. Stroking Devlin’s big cock while he trembled, and she told him his baby grew inside her belly. She controlled him with her hand, with her lies. He was a big-dick puppet who would do anything she wished now. She promised him her husband. Promised him she would birth Devlin Stone’s baby from within Josh Waters’ sacred marriage. She promised him they would work together; that she would do all the things he wanted her to do. She would help make him millions. He would own his own company. And Josh? Josh would raise their baby. Josh would be Devlin’s baby’s stay-at-home dad. Josh would live in their house and they would work together. Josh would cook and clean and when they came home, Josh would watch Devlin make Kimmy Chang come like a demon, his massive cock buried inside her, the head stretching out her deepest seams.
She came while Devlin came. She came watching his cock surge in her hand and shoot thick white ropes onto the mirror, again and again, like it would never stop coming. She had bit and kissed the back of his muscular arm, recording him the whole time.
The urge to cry out was strong, but she choked it back, her thighs clamped on her hand between her legs, her body shuddering under Hyun’s blanket.

2024-04-25 02:37:15 +0000 UTCI agree about her concern about consequences, but what she has done seems ridiculously over confident and risky TO SET ABOUT doing for payback... As a person who has studied law and worked in legal matters, she must realise that equality before the law is somewhat idealistic when facing wealth and influence... Now if she has information hidden from us that's different... but the illogical things she said in trying to explain herself to Josh, and her inability to separate affection and sex (except for her relationship with Sophie) are disturbing to me. It may be that Josh's absolution fiasco triggered new excesses, but now it is being suggested by Karina that Kimmy deliberately provoked Devlin at the reunion. It is true, however, that over the last two instalments she has shown more self control with Hyun and more discursive clarity. But maybe Kimmy is not good at expressing herself, which would make her shitty at her job, and manipulating other people. Or maybe the recent simpler narrative style is obscuring new Kimmy. Even Kimmy's latest masturbation narrative seems to suggest a continuity of disdain for Devlin which contradicts many details from the earlier books. I may be wrong, but offering athletes who are openly trained and indoctrinated by behavioural re-enforcement techniques similar to those of the military is not a very persuasive example for me. I have been wrong many times before. I have started rereading the books yet again... to refresh my memory. And for the enjoyment reading a good story brings. Oh, one of the reasons that Kimmy used in the first book to convince Josh he needn't be embarrassed about Amy witnessing him drunk and being helped to piss with his trousers down around his ankles was that Amy 'loves' him. That certainly could be interpreted as his wife being a deceitful bitch!

2024-04-25 01:46:33 +0000 UTC"Ridiculously over-confident" describes many of the most talented young athletes getting ready for tomorrow's NFL draft (here in the US) As I listen to their interviews, they sound brazen, arrogant, and delusional, as many of them proclaim "No one can stop me. I'm the best there's ever been." Are they disturbed? Also, Kimmy keeps mentioning that jail is a real possibility. That doesn't sound like delusional over-confidence.

2024-04-25 00:25:53 +0000 UTCBill, I laughed out loud at this: "...eating creampie in the sky when you die." Sounds like you're writing a bawdy limerick! 😂

2024-04-25 00:17:47 +0000 UTCI’m not entirely sure whats up here anymore to be honest. I thought we were headed either into a hardcore cuckolding story or a hyper realistic “i’ve had enough of your shit, Kimmy” ending. Instead we got Kimmy in a lesbian relationship, stealing from her employer, turning Devlins dad against Devlin and involved in some elaborate but nonetheless super secret anti-Devlin plot. All unnecessarily complicated in my opinion. The story ain't floatin my boat at the moment, to be honest. I think lots of this stuff could be cut out. The core story was kimmy, devlin, and josh and the emotional roller coaster they were on. That seemed thrilling enough.
CSH
2024-04-24 22:40:01 +0000 UTCYeah, I can see that L_S87, I don’t have doubts Kimmy is probably right, deep down he wants a version of this, it just doesn’t feel like he wants Kimmy’s version of “this.” As he told her succinctly, “everything weighs on me.” And she hasn’t really spent much time trying to help it not weigh on him, if anything she’s only piling more weight on. She talks about trying to figure out ways to reassure Josh, but all she really does is try to badger him to give in, and call him a coward when he doesn’t. I don’t know how she could reassure him, I guess my point is she doesn’t really seem all that interested in trying.

2024-04-24 18:45:39 +0000 UTCExactly Andrew, what she fantasizes... the tall tale she sells to Devlin is a Manus Dare 'happy' ending. She needs help... not putting in her place, though! Not martyrdom for being taken in adultery and challenging the Stones. It was humiliation and a miserable sense of loss and failure that brought her to this sorry pass... Manus Dare endings say the meek get the crumbs from the table whether they like it or not. So enjoy. Not that it is untrue... just not my thing... I can't help thinking it's about time for inheriting the earth while there's some of it left. Not eating cream pie in the sky when you die!
Bill F Protagoras
2024-04-24 18:23:30 +0000 UTCShe is masterful, but all power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely. Like Virgil and Dante KT chose the epic as a model but epics don't have supervillains they have antagonists, except maybe the Divine Comedy... Milton clearly had mixed feelings about Satan and God... Kimmy is disturbed not because of what she does, but what she believes, and because she is ridiculously overconfident...

2024-04-24 17:48:57 +0000 UTCI think whether Kimmy is delusional or masterful may depend upon the outcome. And if we'd like her to be a good villain, then I think she should be masterful. All the great villains are: Kingpin, Lex Luthor, and all the adversaries in the 007 (James Bond) movies.
Pete
2024-04-24 16:48:44 +0000 UTCKimmy's siren song video is a dreamscape of a home where Josh lives in a servant's guise in a home she has returned him to... built around a bed that is constructed on a thick, gnarly, immovable trunk the centre piece to an eternity with suitor number one... because she has no-one she can trust to bind her... and stop her ears with wax... 2024-04-24 15:11:32 +0000 UTCAlternate take: Kimmy may have a glimmer of care for Josh, but she's totally willing (and eager) to hurt him when they are married and he is completely devoted to her. Are we to expect she would be LESS likely to enjoy hurting him if he leaves her?
Glaucon
2024-04-24 14:30:13 +0000 UTCDefinitely a big assumption. I could equally see the party going quite badly for Josh. He could share too much detail in a way that turns a fun social time into his own public humiliation, which would follow the pattern of his rays of hope curdling into maximum pain/humiliation.
Glaucon
2024-04-24 14:21:27 +0000 UTCNow that I've had time to think on this, I'm kind of leaning towards JLs line of thinking. This will definitely have a negative effect on Kimmy and she wouldn't take losing Josh lightly. She would try to win him back. But if he were to make a clear break by finding someone else... She'd be livid, distraught and listless. But I don't know if all of those would make her sabotage Josh's new relationship. Because there is another part of her. The part that was upset Josh was in a hotel room alone, so much so she called him and asked him to come home. The part that stopped caring about the video for a moment to take care of Josh's mental well-being. That Kimmy seems to exist less and less, but it's still there. And that Kimmy may accept Josh's departure from her because his happiness is important, even if his happiness being tied to another, not herself, cuts her to the quick. We'll see. This all presumes the outcome of the party is positive for Josh in a "give that bitch the boot" sort of way.
L_S87
2024-04-24 14:15:02 +0000 UTCYou know, the funny thing with this, is I think Josh, or part of him, *does* want that with Kimmy. He just doesn't want it the way she made it happen and he sure as hell doesn't want it with Devlin. If Kimmy had looped him in from the beginning, and had chosen someone who hadn't been a thorn in Josh's side since childhood... I think he'd have said yes. Oh, Kimmy would have had to manipulate and cajole him into it, but ultimately he'd have given in. But what makes this so amazingly depraved for Kimmy is the same thing that makes it so unacceptably awful for Josh. Cheating in the shadows while manipulating Josh into accepting his bully as a perfect friend with benefits for Kimmy just doesn't work for Josh. Too much painful history clouding his judgement of whether he wants Kimmy to be what she wants to be. Liege lady and supreme overseer of their marriage. The "normalcy" of this party vs the last two he was at is clearly eating at Josh. Which may be making his decision for him. What he says next chapter and how that goes will probably pave the way for him staying or leaving Kimmy. I still want him to kiss or cuddle Karina and have someone send a picture to Kimmy. I want to see that volcano erupt. It would be bad for Josh when Kimmy confronted him, but there's a little devil in me that wants those fireworks. (Part of that is probably because I SO badly wanted Max to do the same with his little tryst and KT had him wuss out, and I really, really wanted to see Maggie's reaction to the tables being turned)
L_S87
2024-04-24 13:57:52 +0000 UTCProbably important to note, because I've had issues with this in the past, that this is basically an extended epilogue. This is KT taking what was initially intended to be 5-10 chapters and expounding on it so we don't just get the ending, but why it ended that way. Also, chronologically, what were witnessing is happening over a few days, but we're reading it over a few months. So it feels slow, but really isn't. When the tale is finished, if you were to read every book, back to back, I think it would mesh much better. It's one of the largest downsides to consuming writing via Patreon. What is meant to be read over a period of several hours takes months. So it skews your sense of timeline within the book. Ultimately, we asked KT to give us more than just "The End". We wanted why it ended that way, so she's helping fill in the blanks. It's sort of like providing us a Keely-esque series for DITW where the gaps get filled in rather than jumping forward months or years and implying things happened with no context on why they happened. I get it. This feels like a very, very slow train wreck. Where we're not even sure the wreck is going to happen. Mostly because of the pace of chapters being released (not a dig, KT!) We'll get there. And then we can read everything in one go and see how cohesive it is.

2024-04-24 08:15:21 +0000 UTCYou are crazy! Kimmy isn't your second most favourite character! Sorry, Karl just my idea of a joke. Things are looking pretty grim, but worse things happen at sea!

2024-04-24 06:29:25 +0000 UTCOne of the indicators is an overwhelming sense of self confidence. Also cautiously curating information revealed to others... kind of trusting no one... Of course, some people would say that is just the human condition. But factor in flu like symptoms and it's a clincher!
Bill F Protagoras
2024-04-24 06:20:34 +0000 UTCI agree with what everyone says, Kimmy losing it, but I still wait, with a bucket of popcorn, for Josh to go back to her and let her fullfill their darkest desires. This is such a dark and delicious set up to explore, a masterpiece KT. Call me crazy, but Kimmy is still my second favorite character, maybe sharing the first place since Kimmy is the opposite of Jane for Six Weeks. But it is harder and harder to see a happy ending here, someone will most likely get hurt, even more hurt than before I’d say.

2024-04-24 05:55:45 +0000 UTCYeah it seems off, given the circumstance. Manic, or just desperate.
CSH
2024-04-24 05:17:48 +0000 UTCReal highs, CS. And in the case of Kimmy the pride seems more a manic symptom than anything else, just like her unbridled lust. "This was what aroused her. Dominance. Mastery." One obvious thing missing from her frenzied narrative... she overlooks obsession! She's also compulsive... quite the cock tale. All things being equal her borderline legal tactics might work... but all things are not equal. Still, as usual, a truth flickered in the chapter, if I'm not very much mistaken...

Bill F Protagoras
2024-04-24 04:23:50 +0000 UTCThe question is whether they are both on fake highs from too much pride. Kimmy really could end up alone and fighting to stay out of jail. Josh cant tell anyone why he decked Devlin but i bet they can guess Devlin is sleeping with Kimmy. I do think we need to bring these elements together again. Either Josh leaves Kimmy or kimmy finally breaks him to his cuckolding. It may be that she could promise Devlin all he wanted because she knows his father will end his time at the company and she will never have to deliver on her promise. Its clear she would like to though, and until Devlins dad makes his move she will probably start down that path even if she never completes the process.
CSH
2024-04-24 03:40:05 +0000 UTCYou just quoted it above... we just witnessed how she was almost uncontrollably turned on by subjugating and outwitting what she considers a clueless arsehole. There is nothing so intriguing about a manic episode. Except, perhaps, why it is happening.
Bill F Protagoras
2024-04-24 02:39:15 +0000 UTCAlso the use of surprise appearance seems to contradict premeditation on Kimmy's part... she already tried to explain exactly what you are speculating about Devlin to Josh... Round about the time he was accusing her of not being right in the head. Maybe she's right maybe he is a coward, just not in a 'machista' way. More in an excuse me while I wash my hands way. I'd like to think he isn't, but we'll have to wait and see. Like most people he seems to think she is to blame for her actions, and ignores the bizarre explanations she offers... great demonstration of compassion!

2024-04-24 02:27:07 +0000 UTCExcept the devil is Kimmy, and we've only been given side conversations and a little internal monolog here and there revealing no actual goals. 2024-04-24 00:25:12 +0000 UTCNo offense to Hyun, but if it was just her, I think Kimmy gets bored of that relationship in short order. I do think in her own way, she needs Josh. While she doesn’t want people to deny her, she also relishes the challenge of overcoming that resistance. Hyun is no challenge, but Josh is proving to be. If anything, I wonder if that’s driving her to be even more attracted to Josh. If he left, if he moved onto a relationship with Karina, or anyone else, I think that would stick in her craw. Whether she’d actively try to sabotage it is anyone’s guess. But it would affect her. Even if she’s hinting here she could do it, I don’t think she’d be able to replace Josh with Hyun and write him off.

2024-04-23 23:58:35 +0000 UTCNot talking about need. Kimmy has thought multiple times how much hurt she would feel at the thought of Josh being happy with someone else. In this chapter and previous ones Kimmy has laid out her drives pretty clearly. She prizes control over others, and has a destructive urge to tear things down, perhaps especially if she cares about those people. I think Kimmy's become exactly the kind of person that would fuck with her Ex's marriage (Especially the Ex that had the audacity to leave her) and, frankly, get off on it.
Glaucon
2024-04-23 23:44:01 +0000 UTCI'd be really surprised if Kimmy did that. Kimmy is a sexual sadist, but she doesn't go around randomly hurting others, and she's not hateful toward Josh. When Josh has 'abandoned' her recently, she's turned to Hyun, as she's done now. She loves the sex with Hyun, and with Devlin, and Hyun has already promised to make her happy. If Josh leaves permanently, Kimmy can VERY easily pivot to Hyun and Devlin. It sounds cold, but Kimmy just doesn't NEED Josh the way he needs her.
Pete
2024-04-23 23:37:06 +0000 UTCAs others pointed out, it also was telling that Kimmy already admitted she’s devised an alternate fantasy with Hyun if Josh doesn’t come back. She says she’d be devastated if Josh left, but she’s already planning out a back-up if he does.

2024-04-23 23:35:29 +0000 UTCYour second paragraph, about Josh wanting what Devlin wants. That's it, right there. That's what turns Kimmy on so much about this scenario. It's why she wanted, so badly, to show him the video. Because she's positive that he will watch it, get turned on, let her whisper sweet darkness in his ear, and he'll agree to that scenario. And then she gets exactly what she wants. Josh every night, to love, to feel loved by, to be pampered by, to be domesticated in marriage and yet to torment with all her depravity, while having Devlin's big dick during the day. All while reciting to Josh all the horrible things she's done... for him. Thats what she craves. Thats why she's so wet and getting off so hard while imagining it. But, you're right. It's not, seemingly, what Josh wants. I think he'd like parts of that, in small, digestible doses. But this full life bit, where he's knowingly cuckolded, everyone sees it, Kimmy out in the open about Josh being a house husband to Devlin's child? Never ever will Josh go for that. Not unless he's trapped with no way out. Which I don't think Kimmy wants, because she craves him accepting her devilish nature. So we'll see where this goes. I could be wrong about Josh. I just don't think so. This party shows what he really wants. And it ain't the depravity Kimmy wants to drown him in.

2024-04-23 23:12:12 +0000 UTCIt's about time Josh got back to his previous belief that what Kimmy was saying sounded insane... and won back the right to claim he loves her unselfishly. Otherwise, Hyun is the only one who seems to give a shit about her...

2024-04-23 22:36:37 +0000 UTCI think this chapter is proof that Kimmy wants Josh to submit to being a cuckold, in every extreme sense of that word. Submit to her sexually, emotionally, financially, in every part of life. Cause that’s her turn on, her kink. We know how she wants Josh to view it: “I know who you really are, I know what you really want. You want the darkness like I do. Others won’t understand, they judge you for it but I won’t. And if you’ll let yourself submit to me, I’ll reward you with every sexual and material thing you could ever want.” Of course, I don’t think she really cares all that much about if Josh REALLY wants all that. It’s just convenient for her if he does, as she admits here. What Josh needs to answer for himself is, does he want that? It appears he doesn’t, but I’m not ready to say that’s definite. Does the reality of being done with Kimmy, does the humiliation and self hatred he feels about his sexual kinks mean he comes to the conclusion he needs to stay, that Kimmy’s right, she’s the only one who can give him it without “judgement.” I’m personally not rooting for that, but I have to concede I’m not convinced he won’t ultimately choose that.
JL23
2024-04-23 22:35:19 +0000 UTCUnless she's in jail, I completely agree. Josh will have to move, or she will ruin anything he tries to start with another. She'll see it as showing him her devotion and doing what is "best" for him, but she will definitely do it, imo. He belongs to her. Thats how she sees it. He's property. She's merely letting him off the leash for now because she thinks that will provide a better future outcome rather than forcing it. But she will force it, if necessary.

2024-04-23 22:26:41 +0000 UTCI really like how this chapter shows that Kimmy's embrace of her own dark proclivities continues. Now that she's faced her own dark truths and she's accepted them, these next conclusions, desires, and machinations make sense. Love the character development! And the dark, greedy, lustful arc Kimmy is on!!
Pete
2024-04-23 22:25:30 +0000 UTCI called it “maniacal self-confidence,” Josh compared it to her wanting to drive off toward a cliff and get those in her life to follow her. Bottom line is she’s convinced herself she’s powerful enough, and in control enough, to get anything she wants. And for there to be no consequences for any of her actions. The real world doesn’t work that way of course, eventually there are consequences. Eventually, someone tells you no. Whether that person (or event) is Josh, Hyun, Devlin, the father, the stealing…I don’t know. But the only way I can see this ending realistically is with someone finally telling her, simply, “no.”
JL23
2024-04-23 22:19:22 +0000 UTCYes, Kat... There’s something seriously wrong with Kimmy. But it is not hyperbole! As I have been saying for quite some time... Rationality doesn't enter into it, even you are still speculating about her as though she is a reasonable being but, she ain't ! Her account of reality does not match the details of the story we have been reading, it is only a partial match. For instance, Josh did not think old Kimmy could dissemble, I only mention this because I just remembered it. There are innumerable details that make no sense, if the 'coherent' resumé of contemporary Kimmy's inner vision is to be believed. This story is now in tragedy land... It all depends on Kimmy and Josh... If Josh doesn't stop gazing at his navel... it will depend on Kimmy... which is as much as to say the blind leading the blind.

2024-04-23 21:38:46 +0000 UTCThere’s something seriously wrong with Kimmy. “That was, of course, if Josh still exiled himself from the best game he had going.” Who thinks things like about the supposed love of their life? Narcissist much? She was just told a few hours ago by her very powerful boss’ lawyer that they know she stole 75K from the company. Apparently, she’s spent all the money on fancy clothes and shoes and dildos, so what does she do? Does she contact a lawyer of her own? No. Does she go home and try to find a way to make amends with Josh? No. She goes to Josh’s niece’s apartment, and Aunt Kimmy tries to have sex with her mother in the living room on the couch. I’ve always thought that eventually Kimmy would choose Josh, and let the chips fall where they may. She thinks she’s the smartest most powerful person, who can make anyone do anything for her. I have a feeling she’s going to be in for some tough times ahead. She doesn’t know Josh is away having a semi stress free weekend with normal people. She doesn’t know that Josh seems to be getting sick of playing her games. She sees him as some weird gimp that will eventually do anything for her, give up his career, raise his bully’s child, while she fucks Devlin and Hyun. Kimmy definitely doesn’t listen to Josh. He’s told her in so many ways how her being with Devlin now is a non starter for him. He’s also not going to raise Devlin’s baby. How could she possibly think that Josh wants to see another sexual performance between Devlin and Kimmy? Hyun, I’m sorry, is a fucking idiot. Yes, she told Kimmy no, for tonight, but that’s because Sophie’s there. Does she have any moral compass? Kimmy bought her clothes and dildos, etc., with embezzled money! She’s also putting her relationship with her child’s father, and her child, at risk. How could they ever be public? It’s laughable. She seems to think Devlin is going to choose her over his father. Who’s to say that when he finds out what she did he doesn’t fire her himself? She made a fool of him in front of his dad. His dad could cut him off, too. I still think Kimmy isn’t sure who the baby daddy is. She told Devlin all that horrible stuff to get him into the panties. How in world could she ever show that to Josh? The stuff she said to him, especially about Josh, is worse than the act she performed for him. I think what might happen(or what I WISH) is that none of his stuff she’s dreaming of happens. She ends up unemployed, disbarred and back making sad cat baskets in her apartment. No one will hire a person like her, an embezzler. The baby ends up being Josh’s, but after everything she’s done with Devlin, Hyun and Stone, Josh leaves her. They share custody of the baby, and that’s it. It would be even better if Josh helps Devlin with support of her treachery, so he doesn’t get in trouble for sexual harassment. We all know Kimmy started this. Her family finds out, and they also disown her for a little while. Maybe she has to move in with her dad. Josh moves on and remarries a beautiful, kind woman, and they quickly have a baby of their own. She has to see them, and Meyer and Sophie at events for their child. She is treated with politeness, but also as an outcast. Meyer and Quinn glare at her. Sophie no longer calls her Aunt Kimmy, and no longer hugs her. She has transferred the aunt title over to Josh’s new wife, who she loves. Whether Josh and his new wife have a kinky relationship will be up to them. But whatever they choose to do they do it together. Just my 1000 cents. Lol I’ve tried to give Kimmy the benefit of the doubt so many times, but she’s just pure evil…and mentally ill. She needs a doctor more than anything else. Nothing that’s happened to her, no amount of trauma excuses her evillness.

2024-04-23 20:55:26 +0000 UTCWhen reading the ending part, where Kimmy actually described what she told Devlin, a part of me wonders how much she was planning to tell Josh. By showing him the video, I assume her spin was (is) going to be she's giving Josh the ultimate power over his bully. Make Devlin think he's getting the ultimate win when in reality it's all a lie. Set up the pins and knock them down for Josh. When she told Josh he wasn't "ready" to hear it, I wonder if what she's waiting for now is the paternity test that proves the baby is Josh's. Still, I think this chapter fully unmasks her true intent. When she says it would be "grand" if Josh wanted what Devlin wanted, I think she wants a version of the scenario she can't stop masturbating over to actually play out. Maybe she gets Josh to accept the baby is his without actually proving it, and that they're "playing" Devlin by having Josh "play" the house husband raising another man's kid. And having Uncle Devlin stop by from time to time. If she doesnt have to definitely prove it one way or the other though, she's in total control of both of them. In the end, Josh is really just another chess piece. Maybe he's the King, but in chess that is just another piece who the Queen has to protect. So a chess piece all the same, and you are right this makes it clear her plan is to manipulate him further to get him to accept Hyun as a part of this. I think if he says anything to the gang, it's likely to be more your second thought, that Devlin mocked him about the miscarriage and now there's a chance the baby isn't really his. I just don't think he can bring himself to admit to the cuckold stuff. And I'm not totally sure if that helps him break from Kimmy, or draws him closer to her. If he needs that but he can't admit that to anyone else because of his own embarrassment, where else can he get it but with Kimmy? And that's probably the "Devil's" bargain she's counting he'll make.

2024-04-23 20:47:53 +0000 UTCVery astute insight here, JL. You're right that for me, this is probably the most unlikable Kimmy has been for a number of books, maybe ever. And I see that for the same reason you do. There's no love here, there's no saving Josh, protecting him, nurturing their hurt marriage. There's only her comparing him to Devlin as equals, both in the center of her sordid web of lies and manipulation. To be played like puppets for her own enjoyment. It's rather disgusting, if also quite erotic due to her mental imagery. For me, this makes it clear that no matter how low she brings Devlin, she has some intent on keeping him close to her in some capacity because that's the only way she gets her fantasy of feeding Josh "his" dark cravings alongside hers. Worse that she now includes Hyun as an equal to Josh, something she hasn't done before, yet she clearly is placing them both on the same level of importance in her life if she "plays her cards right". With Devlin mixed in there somewhere for spice. I do wonder what Josh will confess. And you're 100% right that what he says will have a profound impact on how they react and whether he stays or goes back to Kimmy. Is he drunk enough to let slip a large enough portion of the truth for them to be shocked and treat him with disdain or at least like there's something wrong with him. That would certainly drive him back to Kimmy as she'd be all he has left now that they are eschewing him for being a deviant. Yet, he could also go with the immediate truth. Devlin implied he was the only one man enough to get Kimmy pregnant. Given the miscarriage Josh snapped. That's the actual truth, if providing no context of how they got to that discussion after Josh watched Devlin fuck Kimmy's brains out. And if Josh were to drop that Kimmy is pregnant and he has no idea who the father is... Yeah, that would have a totally different response from Meyer and Quinn and Karina. One of consolation, commiseration and looking down on Kimmy. So the question is ... Is Josh so drunk he says too much, or just enough to tell a bit too much of the truth. Enough that Meyer or Karina may text Kimmy in the middle of the night telling her she's a right piece of shit and perhaps providing some photo evidence of how well Josh is doing without her.

2024-04-23 20:18:08 +0000 UTCWow. This is Kimmy at her most unlikable to me, but maybe, the most honest? She lets the mask slip totally here. In the end, she doesn't really view Josh (or Hyun for that matter) any different than she does Devlin. They are just people she wants to bend to her will, to control. She essentially referenced Josh and Devlin as equals in her mind in this chapter. I've said she loves Josh, but this chapter makes me think she's too damaged to even understand what love means. I think she has more benevolent feelings toward Josh (and Hyun) than Devlin, but the reality is she wants to control them just the same. She's blind to how Josh or Hyun would feel being manipulated and controlled though, for her she's giving them what they "want" sexually, so they should be happy and not worry about anything else. That's every bit as insidious and dare I say it, evil as how she wants to treat Devlin. Their every bit a punching bag for her as Devlin, she just won't admit that. She gets off on the control and of being in power, with all 3 of them. She just needs Josh and Hyun to pat her head and tell her it's OK to be doing that. Honestly, they'd both be better off without her. Whether Josh admits to the hot tub gang what's actually happening in his marriage will be interesting. If he does, their reaction may give him the strength to leave what is probably a toxic marriage for him now, but a different reaction might draw him back closer to her web.
