New Covers for the Devil in the Waters Series
Added 2024-12-13 03:00:04 +0000 UTCYeah, I know I used AI for these images, but there's something suitably demonic about AI that fits the story's themes!

2024-12-16 10:28:00 +0000 UTCI suspect while perusing these images that this is exactly how the character would wish herself to be viewed. With a firm grip on herself... and the scrotum of some kind of mankind nestling in her slender elegantly fingered grasp. So, time well spent... not by Kimberly... necessarily.

2024-12-14 14:23:35 +0000 UTCMy adverse criticism of AI is that in the long term it panders to peoples' shallowest instincts. And shallowness, in contrast to baseness, rapidly becomes boring and an offense to our taste and discrimination. Of course, it does have its attractions that are more than likely less harmful than tobacco... À chacun son goût!

2024-12-14 12:18:23 +0000 UTCOnly a week left Bill. And then I'll find the rest on the big A. (Someday)

2024-12-14 11:54:24 +0000 UTCKT, can't wait to see them full size so that I can examine the faces of your Eves in detail... especially the one with the lodestone of Avernus hanging over her unrepentant(?) head...

2024-12-14 09:39:13 +0000 UTCI don't know what to think, even Socrates was proud to have served his city as a hoplite in the ranks of the phalanx... it was believed, I have read, to be a proud symbol of Athenian democracy. On the other hand, it was also the greedily prized tool of Roman Imperialism... So as in this latter matter, in the case of the missing covers I am unequivocally conflicted. But I feel safe in the knowledge that I will never have to choose...

2024-12-14 09:27:40 +0000 UTCAnd here we have Kimmy transformed from individual moments of unthinking (or unthinkable) egoism and overweening pride into a bristling phalanx of unseemly malevolence fit to stand shoulder to shoulder with the great fierce world-devouring Macedonians of antiquity... Or alternatively, the fallen of Pandaemonium all uncannily viewing us, as was their skill, all thirstily staring at us with a single taunting tempting face... knowledgeable in all soul-consuming manner of things. Yet all appear to me to be showing off how adept or addicted they are to concealment. Or, with AI, metaphorically soulless? Aping soullessness? Look on these works and despair...

2024-12-13 21:44:00 +0000 UTCI like that the themes are conveyed on the new covers as Glaucon mentions, though I'm not sure how I feel about the AI. To be honest I loved the covers on the first few books, the model is very beautiful and for me that's how Kimmy will always look as I imagine her. Either that or as Grace Park.

2024-12-13 17:43:39 +0000 UTCI gotta say, to me these covers are very evocative of the books’ themes.
