Time to switch to RPGMaker MZ :I
Added 2022-09-13 21:55:23 +0000 UTCAs you all know, there is a huge issue with my game having "movie" freeze bug.
I've done everything to fix it, but it's still there.
Why does it happen?
After searching and searching and searching for an answer, I found it.
It's a bug that's inside RPGMaker MV code. I knew this before and thought it was fixable, however, I was wrong.
There is only one way you can use movies with MV and that is to downgrade to 1.5.
But if I do that, many plugins would stop working, creating new issues, worse performance and new bugs that were fixed in 1.6 version.
What am I planning to do?
My plan right now is to migrate this project to rpgmaker MZ. I will still lose a lot of utility that I had with my plugins, making the game harder to create, but at the same time I'm getting a massive upside.
Upside being much better performance, stability, less bugs and actual playable movies. (I tested the movies and they work wonderfully).
What does this mean for YOU?
Usually, migrating a project from MV to MZ is not a big deal. However, I heavily used plugins which are not supported by MZ. This means that some stuff will be broken and I will need to fix it.
By this I mean, it will take some time to do that.
Don't get me wrong, I will still release an update of the game this month, though the new content being added is going to suffer a bit if there are unplanned stops.
