Progress update

Hi everyone, thank you very much for your support!



In the next update, I plan to implement intelligence into the game.

Intelligence at the moment will be used in speech checks.

Here is an example of how it will work:


You have 2 intelligence.

A roll is done from 1 to 20. If it falls on 1, you hit a critical fail and you automatically fail the check even if you have intelligence level big enough to pass.

Same for 20 except you automatically win no matter the number needed to pass.

To pass a speech check you need to hit a "roll" of X (Let's say 10 for this example).

Your intelligence is added onto rolled score at 50% rate. So at intelligence level 2, 1 point is added to the roll.

Let's say you get a roll of 9. Since you have intelligence level 2, 1 point is added and that passes the speech check for you.


What will speech checks do?


There will be several types of speech checks introduced gradually.

Types include: Story speech check, reward speech check, miscellaneous speech check.


Story speech checks will potentially change aspect of the story for the character if you pass or fail. (For example, there are traps on the right and you need to convince someone to not go right. Failing speech check will make them go into traps and have potential consequences.)


Reward speech checks will offer you rewards for a quest that would usually offer none or MORE rewards for a quest or a job you did.


Miscellaneous speech checks, while offering none of the above, can give pointers to hidden treasures, tips and sometimes even improving your skill levels.


Leveling up intelligence is simple. You have to participate in speech checks OR find scrolls, books etc.. in the world and reading them.



I will also introduce active skills in next update.

Active skills are learned by finding scrolls and books in the world. Not all books will give you new active skill though, but all of them will give experience towards your intelligence.

Active skill in next update will be "First aid". It will have 2 levels, so you need to find 2 books that give you First aid in order to improve it.

These books can be ANYWHERE, so exploration will be your friend.

Active skills cost JP to use and upgrading the skill increases JP cost, but it also increases the benefit from using the skill.  (First aid 1 = heals for X HP) meanwhile (First aid 2 = heals for X% max hp at cost of more JP).

Yes, you need to lose all your HP and after that there will be sequence. When it's done, go towards the toe area of the shoe and talk to Zex.
