Status Report

Hello, everybody! Okay, long story short, I moved out. Due to a....family incident at the house, I basically got a one-day kickout notice the day after I decided not to keep the house....which was also my birthday. So, yeah, managed to stash everything in a stoaage locker before heading up with my mom.

As for why I haven't said anything before now? Well, due to a certain infestation in my old place, my mom is keeping the stuff I brought with me in quartine to prevent a potential spread. I thought this would be short term, but the best remedy is to set them out in the sun for about a week and a half, and the weather isn't cooperating with us. Luckily, my mom had a spare laptop and hookup keyboard. Spent the first couple days just getting it updated due to lack of use.

Stress has been and off and on, but waning thing for me. My mom and her husband(not my dad in any way) are nice and funny. It's nice being with my siblings, and I get to see my nephews a lot, who warmed up to me pretty quickly. Feel a bit...out of place at times. On the other hand, I no longer have to worry about balancing month to month bills for the first time in nearly a decade. Don't get me wrong, I gladly did it, it's just...surreal not having random moments at night where I'm randoming doing math in my head to try and assure myself that it'll all work out.

That's one of the sick ironies about losing someone in these situations- you lose some of your major stressers and can never really be happy about it, and wish to high heavens you could have those stresses back. The way you want to remove that kind of stress is making a million dollars or something. (sighs) Sorry, rambling at this point.

Anyway, getting use to everything, settling in and ready for the long haul. I'm trying to get back to writing, but I'm a bit slowed by internet being a bit lackluster, getting use to being here, and getting use to this touchpad-keyboard set up.

Hope to have more for you soon!

PS hope you are all doing well amongst this pandemic. Becareful when the restrictions start lifting- I'm hoping I'm wrong, but I'm betting on a second wave happeneing once we all start heading back out in masses.

Hang in there Akuma! We want you to be safe and happy.
