That got me flicking through some of the Alan Partridge stuff I have saved on my hard drive as it rung a bell, there's a longer version of the same Simon Pegg segment on a charity special he did called 'The Cream of British Comedy', where Simon Pegg is the grown up child actor from the Milkybar Kid adverts, the Milkybar kid adverts were huge in the UK in the 60's/70's, it's a really funny sketch and it's on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KcP7bNSb1mE

So many quotes in I'm Alan partridge, I'm always looking for an excuse to say 'there's more to Ireland dan dis!' for no particular reason! Me and my partner spend most of our lives shoe horning in partridge quotes into everyday life for no good reason, it's a bit like Python like that. If you like the interviews then start with the series 'Knowing me Knowing You with Alan partridge' before moving onto I'm Alan Partridge which is gold standard stuff, but it's all good!

Simon Pegg in his early career was in a lot of comedy tv shows in the UK, most famous for the cult tv series 'Spaced' which was awesome, the director of that show Edgar Wright then went on to make a series of three comedy films known as the Cornetto Trilogy, all starring Simon Pegg and his comedy partner Nick Frost, all 3 films are absolutely brilliant, they're called 'Shaun of the Dead', 'Hot Fuzz' and 'The World's End', they're held in similar esteem to the likes of Life of Brian over here.

The two Irish writers are Arthur Mathews and Graham Linehan who wrote Father Ted, that scene is from an actual sitcom called 'I'm Alan Partridge', Steve Coogan who plays Alan Partridge has done loads of stuff with that character right back since 1991, including appearing in other shows and series of his own on tv and radio plus a movie too.
