There will never be a funnier film for me, massively enhanced if a bit of knowledge of the history of Rock from the 60s/70s... with its pretentiousness, drummers dying in weird ways, girlfriends entering the dynamic etc. etc. Such a pleasure to watch with you guys, who (unlike others) clearly aware of the clever piss-taking.

Life imitated art in1997 when U2 were on their Popmart tour, For the encore the band would return to the stage inside a giant mirrorball lemon which descended to the top of a staircase and opened for them to emerge from. Except when they played Las Vegas it failed to open, trapping them inside. It had to be wheeled off the stage with the band still inside so they could be freed backstage. You couldn't make it up. Oh, except Spinal Tap did make it up 13 years earlier.
