2025-06-14 13:40:52 +0000 UTCThe fact that Gabe Kidd is in BC and they had this match is kinda funny because there was a whole storyline in WCPW where Kidd would try to prove himself to the bucks and Adam Cole to join BC so its kind of a full circle moment that Kidd is the one that is in BC going against the former leader of the group that he wanted to be in that he is now in.

Nowadays there is no Omega, Ospreay, Okada, Naito, Ibushi, Shibata, Jay White. So if you want to get into the current product you should look into guys like Gabe Kidd, Yota Tsuji, Yuya Uemura, Shota Umino, Oiwa, David Finlay and Zack Sabre Jr.

2025-06-12 23:31:58 +0000 UTCThe "powerbomb piledriver thing" is a move known as a Ganso Bomb/Kawada Driver. Toshiaki Kawada invented it accidentally during a match against Mitsuharu Misawa. He broke his arm during the match and had to work with that for quite a while. The move came into existence when he tried to lift Misawa for his finisher, a powerbomb, but his arm gave up, so, instead of botching the whole thing, he just dropped Misawa on his head. Absolutely legendary stuff.

While I will agree this is Gabe Kidd's best match, I dont think he's a bad wrestler, I actually really like him, though I understand why some people might find him repetitive (and this is not counting all the recent AEW controversy). I'm sure the match against Tsuji on Dominion will be really good. By the way, if you want to watch another good Gabe Kidd match, look up the War Dogs vs House of Torture "dog pund cage match". It was great, full of crazy spots and a lot of bleeding. It also sets up a couple of matches for Dominion.

Gabe Kidd was stuck at the dojo during the pandemic and was depressed in 2022 and checked into somewhere to get help some thought he could contemplate suicide. Tanahashi would visit him weekly and helped Kidd out. Even in character Kidd is a heel he respects tanahashi and wants to represent njpw to the fullest so this match meant alot to gabe and Tanahashi who now is the president got emotional.

2025-06-12 22:47:43 +0000 UTCI first heard of Kidd when WhatCulture wrestling formed their own wrestling company, WCPW. He was a green face losing all the time until surprisingly winning a title. After a stint in REVPRO, he then went to New Japan starting as a young lion, until he finally got noticed by David Finlay and alongside Alex Coughlin turned heel and joined the Bullet Club War Dogs, Finlays new spin on the faction. You had to be young and mean to be a part if it. I guess being a fan of stone cold, Gabe learned how to spout off at the mouth and became a force, winning a big title and capturing the eye of Mox. In this event, he decided to kiss up to the fans and wear the NJPW logo on his trunks since KO left the Company and low and behold it worked as KO was considered the heel here. Definitely check out the post match Interview of his!
