Hey, Amber, you made it through a zombie movie! Congrats! If you ever decide to try another one -- y'know, before you take a crack at The Walking Dead -- another zombie comedy that you two might enjoy is "Shaun of the Dead." It's a British comedy, has a nice balance of funny and scary (leaning mostly towards funny), and is a great homage/love-letter to the zombie genre. It's also a super popular movie so, y'know, great for reactions. There are definitely some references in it that won't mean anything to you (since you don't watch zombie movies), but nothing you need to know to fully enjoy the movie. They're really just easter eggs for genre fans. E.g. someone says on the phone "We're coming to get you, Barbara," which is a famous line from the classic 1968 zombie movie, "Night of the Living Dead" (the movie that created the concept of zombies as we know them). You don't need to know that to enjoy the moment or understand what's going on in "Shaun of the Dead". It's just an extra layer of enjoyment for fans of zombie movies. Anyway, it's an awesome movie and I think you two will enjoy it, zombies or no. AND if you and Jay are ever looking to be challenged with a scary movie again, this time WITH zombies, I'd also recommend "28 Days Later". That one's definitely NOT a comedy. I don't remember it being particularly gross or graphic, but, as a horror fan, I don't really think about that stuff too much so, y'know, ymmv. Still, it's good and maybe a good reaction for spooky season.

2024-09-17 03:51:45 +0000 UTCI forgot to ask if you recognized the song that Tallahassee played on the banjo?? That song reminded me of a must watch movie called "Deliverance" 1972 which is an American thriller film. Also check out the movie "Kingpin" 1996 with Woody Harrelson, Randy Quaid and Bill Murray....it's hilarious!!

If you want to see another hilarious movie, check out Hubie Halloween" 2020 with Adam Sandler, Steve Buscemi. June Squibb plays Hubie's Mom and she wears some hilarious T-shirts. The setting is Salem, Massachusetts, and Hubie finds himself in the midst of a real investigation, for a real murderer.
