Update on... Updates!

I included this in the revamped About section of the Patreon, but I figured it'd be a good idea to touch base here and let everybody know how Updates will be working from here on out.

Originally, Beastborne chapters were done in the typical serialization fashion. Which means that every chapter was, relatively speaking, fairly short. They were meant to get out quickly and keep the story updates from taking too long.

This hampers the writing process in a myriad of ways, least of all because it cuts out the major utility of a chapter to jump to another place, character, or most importantly, time.

I have done updates like this for 4 Beastborne Chronicle books. While I enjoyed the pacing, it was a struggle some times to get the chapters out in time, especially when switching from the end of one book to the start of another. 

Added to the fact that Beastborne Chronicles has never made enough solely from Patreon/serialization for me to be full-time, I've decided to officially switch back to the standard way of writing for Beastborne. If for some reason that changes in the future, I'll revisit this decision.

Pyresouls was already done this way, and so nothing will change there or any future series.

What his means is instead of weekly posts of 5 chapters like before, I'll be moving to chunkier, more fleshed out chapters that are uploaded as I am able to. This means that at times there will be one chapter uploaded in an Update, at other times there will be multiple chapters, in both cases they will be considered a singular Update.

This will give me the flexibility to work on my books as long as I need to without cutting content or changing things because I need a certain chapter length or need to get x chapters out on a deadline.

In other news, since the 4th Beastborne Chronicles book is up for preorder, I will be taking down the Early Access chapters and in a few days will be uploading the ebook for Early Access Patrons.

Over the next week I'll also be releasing the first Updates to Book 5. I've taken down the existing posts since they have been reworked and I don't want any confusion as to how Book 5 will progress.

TL;DR-  As chapters are written, I'll put them up on Patreon. There is no schedule. Sometimes it might just be a single  chapter, other times it could be five or more. An Update, is simply whenever I upload new chapter(s). Chapters, as average, are going to be 2 to 5 times larger than they used to be when Beastborne was serialized. Old Book 4 chapters going away, ebook coming, new Book 5 chapters coming soon!
