I have NOT been home but now I am back and publishing today's post, delayed (obviously).

A little funny--I was scheduled for jury duty this week and was supposed to start checking in LAST FRIDAY but didn't read the paper close enough and found out this morning 20 mins before my report time, and had to call in to postpone, so shows you where i am at.

As mentioned this is a little inspired by the book "Project Hail Mary" and I wish the protagonist had been a woman, though it wouldn't have mattered much in that context. I also finished the Scythe Trilogy which has a little bit of influence on this, in that they deal with post-humanity, but I guess what I took for this purpose was a bit of "unearned" progress, which you'll see.

THis could get a part 2, I think. maybe not more than that, but I would like to have the protagonist interact closely with another character.
