Helena doesn’t cut herself for pleasure, it’s penance. If you notice she only does it when she fails at a task, which makes her driven and more of a threat.

Shamonda said that maybe they didn't know that Cosima was one, but it's Sarah that nobody knows about. Ms. S talked about how Sarah was a child in the black. Sarah was basically hidden away. And the way she lived basically drifting in and out of town and even her family didn't really know where she was, I think helped to keep her off the radar.
