Orphan Black Season 3 Episode 2

Comments

"Holy doodle. Here we go." So. I'm stupid. I didn't realize y'all been posted until y'all posted this one ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ. Looks like we're getting a 2-for-1 special on this one folks! ๐Ÿ˜„... Name Check: "Brad" ๐Ÿ˜‚ - Paul Dierden. Melvin/Daphne ๐Ÿคฃ - Delphine Cormier. Cosima's New Doctor - Dr. Nealon. Runaway Prolethean Castor - Mark Rollins. Basement Scarface Castor - Rudy. Glitchy Mustache Castor - Seth. Chainsmoking Doctor - Dr. Virginia Coady. Cosima's Science Friend - Scott. D.Y.A.D. Kinky Cleaner - Ferdinand. I guess I'll start with Mrs. S. So we found out last episode what exactly it was she knew Sarah would never forgive her for in regards to Helena. Siobhan & Cal set up a deal with each of their inside people: Paul & Marion. Paul & Marion made a deal. It seems like the deal was Marion would have Sarah & Kira released from D.Y.A.D. It also seems as Marion acquired a Castor, in exchange the military get Helena. Sarah & Kira weren't meant to be left alone. Siobhan knew that Sarhs wasn't going to be okay with the deal, but like Felix said, he would have done the same thing. But like Sarah said, "It wasn't your bloody decision". It was crazy spot to be in because Sarah is Mrs. S child. Kira is her granddaughter. Helena is not her child, so in comparion, to her Helena's expendable. She's not her "family", so of course she chooses her own over not. The scene of her fighting against Seth had me scared, but I like when they put her in an action sequence. She held her own for a moment when she stabbed him in the thigh with the pen ๐Ÿ˜ฌ, but it hurt to see her go down like that. And despite all of the mess Sarah had dealt with in regards to Siobhan Sadler, her manipulative secrectness, and simply not being able to trust her all last season, when Sarah first walked that door and saw Mrs. S all beat up, she ran over to check on her and was so worried. And right before Mrs. S dropped the deal bomb on Sarah, for the first time, we heard Sarah call Mrs. S "mum", saying "I'm sorry, mum" when she found out it was a Castor that attacked Mrs. S. It'd always been "my foster mum", "Mrs. S", or whenever she's mad or not trusting her, "Siobhan". She saw her "mum" broken and in pain, thinking it was her fault. After everything that's happened between them, she saw Mrs. S as her mum. And of course, immediately Mrs. S dropped the truth about the deal right after, and all of that "mum" talk went right out the window. Her "mum" just betrayed her by betraying her sister. And just like that, Mrs. S went from "mum" to "you're not my people". I know had to hurt them both. And poor Felix again caught in the middle. Like Rudy the Scarface Clone said, "It's hard to tell who's who these days." Whether it's simple swap, or in the sense of loyalty. Now, Siobhan feels broken. Betrayed her own daughter to keep her family safe, only for it to not even work because they're still coming after them, and now her daughter hates her. And Felix is still there taking care of her. He didn't have to call her an invalid while he poured her tea though ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ lol. Art's back ๐Ÿค—. And of course Sarah Manning is breaking all the rules like he didn't just get off suspension he got put on all last season lol. Let's see how Sarah plan on stressing Art out this season ๐Ÿ˜„. That poor woman though. That whole opening scene is straight yikes! Like how do you even explain something like that? And they have her information and a hair sample?! First things first, I'd have to find a way to move far away somehow. Wouldn't take away from the trauma though. So, Alison & Donnie are getting into the drug business ๐Ÿ˜†. Between catching a body, threatening to take another, telling off a spying detective, and burying a body that's all somehow rekindled the relationship between him and his wife, Donnie was feeling himself and got himself fired for cussing out his boss #WhenKeepingItRealGoesWrong . But Alison wants to run for School Trustee to prevent her kids from going to school in "the ghetto" because the playground has gravel instead of rubber mulch. "It's like the 70s" ๐Ÿ˜‚. And the lovely Ramon decide to leave the drug business for college (I bet his tuition is paid lol) and Alison a new way to gain money that let them keep their home and a new business strategy to obtain votes for the school district election (because she refuse to work at her mother's soap shop lol), but bribing her votes through her suburban customers lol. Alison on her own is chaotic enough. Alison & Donnie working together? This could either really bad, a great power movie, or a messy mixture of them both lol. Whatever it is, you know it'll be hilarious. The Hendrix household is a force to be reckoned with ๐Ÿ˜„. Last episode, when had a whole situation with Ferdinand weird self(Janes Frain is a great actor, I feel like I've seen him play, charasmatic, creepy villains, except in maybe the little bit of Star Trek: Discovery I've seen). We gotta redirect the man kills/cover for Topside before he finds out the secret. Sarah decided to use the opportunity of using Delphine and Ferdinand to try and find her sister. Rachel, although not dead, has lost her eye and has impairments due to frontal lobe trauma from the pencil shooting. We got a DOUBLE clone swap scene. That's a first. Sarah the punk actually has to impersonate the more "sophisticated" Rachel Duncan. The most she'd done was try to imitate her voice briefly on the phone to the concierge at Rechel's suit. There' definitely a contrast between the two. Rachel wears mostly white based clothing, while Sarah go-to is black. I love when they do a cloneswap that it's never 100% right. You can see Sarah's postures not quite as perfect as Rachel, or see the discomfort and lack of confidence seeping into her body language. Then we get the surprise second entry, an oldie but a goodie, in the cloneswapping fiasco: Alison as Sarah. Alison hasn't actually met Rachel before so she wasn't expecting the sinister energy Sarah brought her, complete with violating touching and a pimp slap (Sarah felt so bad, but the slap needed to done to redirect the attention). Alison only got a taste of what Sarah's been dealing with but it was enough to shake both her and Donnie up (he was NOT having it). I love how quick the sisters are quick to jump in for each other now though. Fun Fact - So last episode, Ferdinand the Cleaner asked Rachel/Sarah if she remembered his "safeword". Well, Rachel actually said the "safeword". In the scene when Delphine was pressing on Rachel's eye area, the latter utter a random word. The word was "corncob". That was Rachel & Ferdinand "safeword". She was shouting "corncob" as way to try and get Delphine to stop. You peeped Ferdinand freakness quick, Shamonda. And we already saw how Rachel get down when she was with Paul ๐Ÿ˜†. The scene with Delphine & Rachel made me uncomfortable. Sure, Rachel deserves the hate, and Delphine was angry & needed information, but being that Rachel is already suffering from brain traums and can barely speak, it just felt kinda weak to me. She's pissed about Rachel using and setting her up to screw Sarah over, and then sending her away while Cosima was dying. I agree with her but this sudden "badass" energy would have seem more badass if she had that same energy when Rachel was power flexing all over and had her looking stupid. It just made Delphine seem cold and bit sadistic by enjoying the payback to a personal injustice when the as if she hadn't done dirt herself. Maybe you have to be in order to perform the duties Rachel had. Probably why she broke up with Cosima. She acknowledged that she won't very able to protect Cosima & her sisters equally if they together be she knows she'll always end up putting Cosima first (kinds like Mrs. S putting Sarah/Kira over Helena), and feels that she can only do her job if her heart isn't in the way. Probably the same logic Leekie taught Rachel. Speaking of Cosima. I found the conversation between Cosima & Kira interesting. In the finale, Kira was trying to wake Cosima, while it seemed like Cosima's dying moments. Kira touched Cosima's face and she awakened, or came back ,as Cosima described. Now Cosima's suddenly feeling better and no one can really explain it. Maybe the treatment from Kira tooth did work. Cosima tried to ask Kira if she felt anything when she touch Cosima, but could really explain it. She felt something that she couldn't logically explain through science. But some science that she DID find was in Ethan Duncan's book and the only person she's telling about it Scott until they can decipher it. They don't know what it means, but if IS the key to the original genome, then not only will they be targeted, it'll most likely end up in the wrong hands. A good thing too because if Sarah had know about it, she'd probably would have given it up to save Kira when Rudy had her hostage. I will say, I'm glad the sisters being A LOT more careful about who they're trusting, basically no one outside of Clone Club (Fee, Art, & Scott are the "outsiders" in the allowed in the club). Looking at you, Cosima. It took a broken heart to get there, but I think she's learning. Like Rudy said though, "Count your sisters" because one of them is missing. Speaking of the missing sestra, over on Helena side of things, she's going through it isn't she? As if she hasn't haven't a lifetime of trauma as it is. Trapped in a tight box for 48 hrs. Snacked out by Getting waterboarded repeatedly, poked and prodded, and basically being a lab subject at the whim of these military strangers, with a chainsmoking primary care physician spitting lies to a girl with abandonmnet issues. And we meet Pupok the Scorpion, her imaginary coping mechanism. In the box, Helena said she hadn't seen Pupok in a long time and the Pupok tells her she's being tested, who know how far Helena had suffered in her life that she need Pupok as "support" to get through it. And now she's confirmed pregnant. The mangoes scene always cracks me up. "Where are these mangoes?...I would like to see these mangoes." They're Don't understand that Helena don't give a damn about what they're talking about or trying to do. And who doesn't love mangoes lol. Fun Fact: Pupok the Scorpion is of course voiced by Tatiana Maslany herself. So, not only is she playing multiple clones, she's also voice acting for Helena's trauma, African emperor scorpion. "Pupok" means "belly button" in Ukraine. And yes, that's a real life scorpion they're using, crwling all over her in the dream sequence and she's acting against in their scenes together lol. I've actually been considering buying two of these scorpions recently and it just dawned on me that I should have named one of them Pupok, but I decided on Palpatine (The Emperor from Star Wars) and Mathias (The Scorpion King) lol. I did love the opening dream sequence with Helena for the season 3 premiere. I love that they way it was designed with all of the colors popping out looking like a weird, suburban sitcom lol. Sarah's got her slightly exaggerated punk garb. Alison stepped into the backyard in her full, 50s suburban wife persona with the finest cupcakes. Felix's whole look is so jarring but cute lol. Reminds me of when he dressed up for to play bartender. Kira is running around wearing wings like the butterfly/angel origami Cal showed her how to make last season, then she made some and hung then up in her room with Sarah in season 2, episode 8 (I think). "Helena's gonna a little monkey too" ๐Ÿค—. And Cosima hops out in a full Ukrainian outfit lol. I love how Hrlena doesn't really understand science but she knows Cosima's sick, so in her dream Cosima's "way better thanks to science". Good enough explanation because I most likely wouldn't understand the scientific aspects of it all either lol. But the beautiful is thats dreaming of her sestras, brother-sestra, & neice all showing her love with a baby shower. Then a giant scorpion comes right out of her belly button and through her dress The real horror begins when she wakes up, taken away from her only family that she just gained once again. Fun Fact: In the dream, Felix is grilling ox liver (basically beef liver), which is commonly eaten in various dishes in Ukraine. He said he marinated in horilka, which is a Ukranian vodka, but I know it's normally done that way or if that was just Helena's weird eating habits seeping into her dreams lol. In Helena's dream, Cosima is wearing a vyshyvanka, a traditional Ukranian wear. In season 2, episode 5 when Helena was laying on Felix couch in her bloody wedding dress, Felix said, "I'm sure I got a Ukranian folk costume in here somewhere", right before she hissed at him ๐Ÿ˜„. Cosima hands over a basket with different treat with the main being babka cake, sweet cake that was created by the Jewish communities in Poland & Ukraine. It's also eaten on Easter in some Eastern European countries. I believe I tried it once at a small Clone Club fan meetup/watch party one of my CloneClub friends threw and someone brought babka cake. Someone else brought mangoes ๐Ÿ˜„. Okay, Cal. There's A LOT of secrets going on. He told Felix that he invented drones to help with repopulating the bee community and that his partners pushed him out, sold their product to the military and they were using it to bomb other countries. According to Paul, Cal was IN on making the weapon and he sure didn't deny it. Ahh, that good old painting yourself in a good guy so your shady past doesn't back & bite you. I guess a con artist swiping 10k is probably just karma lol. But Paul is pissed that Sarah's trying to search for Helena. The deal he made was for Sarah & Kira to be safe. The problem, which he should have known, Sarah doesn't like to be told to go sit down somewhere. Paul wanted Cal to take Sarah & Kira and get the hell outta dodge, but Sarah's grown. And at this point, she damn sure isn't going to want to hear it from Paul. I love that he got a place in the area. I love that he just want tontake care of his daughter, no matter what. And of course this little Candian family would have some cute, living room, hockey fun lol. I think we call breath a little easier for a bit for now. Sarah decided to send Kira away with Cal. He's taking her to Iceland, just like he offered to do with Sarah & Kira last season, but Sarah turned it down to help her sisters. He took great care of Kira in season 2. Let's just hope the good dad streak continues ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿพ. I guess I gotta address these Castor Clones. They're so creepy, especially Rudy. There's an unhinged vibe all around him, which is ironic considering Seth was the one mentally glitching. Mark burning that tattoo off his arm ๐Ÿ˜ณ. I gurss it's quicker than stealing money for a tattoo removal procedure. Looks like he's trying to discontinue his allegiance. Love will make you do that. It seem like D.Y.A.D. weren't the only hoping to get their hands on the original genome. And it seems like our Leda girls aren't the only ones who are at risk of falling "ill" looking for a cure. And Paul was doing the True or False testing that the military later attempted on Helena. That creep Rudy snatching up Kira ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. He was already on super creep mode with Sarah in the first episode. He brought up Kira and set Sarah. But now he not bound and he's definitely armed, and Sarah couldn't do anything about it. She didn't know what and her child was once again almost taken. Amd here Sarah thought she was done with all of that. But it's not D.Y.A.D., but two order-defying Castor boys who clearly don't care about laws or rules. That glitching seems crazy though. And painful. I can see why they're deaperate with wanting to find the key to Duncan's science. I saw Rudy killing Seth coming with the way he was still lying on the floor but it happens so quickly that it's still shocking. They're creepy as hell, but I can't imagine having to kill your own sibling, and you doing is putting them out of their misery ๐Ÿ˜ฉ. At least we got new Clone Phones! Season 1 were pink, season 2 was green. Now, we're rocking the blue. Fun Fact: So, after season 3 finished, Orphan Black released two series of comics. The first set were 5 issues and each issue was a small backstory of about each clone pre-series (Sarah, Helena, Alison, Cosima, & Beth). The second comic series that came out afterwards was called "Helsinki", and it's the backstory to what happened to the 6 Europeon clones back in 2006 Ferdinand was referring to as "Helsinki", and was conspiring to do again with Rachel/Sarah to Clone Club (Rachel's so petty). I can link them to you after y'all finish season 3 if y'all want to check those out, just let me know. Coming Up: Will Helena get her mangoes? Will Alison turn her suburban home into a trap house? Will Kira actually be able to stay out of danger? ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ
