Because of a mistype in the onscreen copyright line, for years it was treated as a PD title, which it is not; it was a UA release and it's now owned by MGM. However, it never got a licensed VHS release from them, not even during that time when they partnered with Amazon for exclusive VHS editions in that no-frills yellow box;, only DVD and then more recently the now-OOP Fun City Editions bluray. (which I provided the trailer for) Basically, every VHS of BORN TO WIN (and its various retitlings like ADDICT) are all bootlegs, and what's worse, most of them use an edited-for-TV syndication print as their source. This might be one of those occasions where an actual 35mm screening should be set up. There is a studio print available.
