So when the Dietrich and Wayne version popped up on Talking Pictures TV the other day I hit the record button. What a picture. Every line of dialogue a winner. The gradual reveal of the scam is brilliantly handled. And Dietrich’s outfit in the opening scenes must have set cinemas on fire back in the 40s.
