HOLY CRAP! Abney Park lost treasure!
Added 2020-12-28 01:50:39 +0000 UTCOK, so over the years, a whole bunch of Abney Park songs got lost. what I mean by that, is all of the files we need to play them live, somehow got lost as we constantly upgraded laptops, or laptops died in the line of duty.
A lot of fan favorite songs, from the olden days, could no longer be played live.
Well, just this evening, we found, under a sofa, under dust bunnies, a very old laptop. And, it decided it would boot up!
Low and behold, it was a stage laptop from back in the early 2000s! On it, 40 or more of our classic old-school Abney Park songs!
We can play them live again!! okay, what shall we play this New Years Eve???

Comments
This year (except for your streaming concerts) has been absolutely dismal, but it's almost over so there is light at the end of this dark tunnel. Perhaps the music for the concert could reflect this. You could start with the more serious and then as the concert progresses become more celebratory.

2020-12-29 22:18:31 +0000 UTCVictoria is a great song, but I'm depressed enough. I suppose that could be when I go to use the littlest room for... 4 or 5 minutes?

2020-12-29 17:54:23 +0000 UTCMy focus on concerts is always “fun party”, but I every so often wonder if that excludes a lot of great songs I’m not really sure how to balance the two flavors, though.
Abney Park
2020-12-28 17:54:22 +0000 UTCI know it is sad but it is a beautiful song and something about your introspection about how the song came to be written pulled at me. I do understand it isn't a party song and I wouldn't want to depress people.

2020-12-28 17:52:48 +0000 UTCHaha! We found you! Just last night I was having a conversation with a trumpet player, who said “someone always requests Victoria”. I said, that’s a true story about a young girl who dies of child abuse. So it’s not really a very fun song to play when you’re trying to have a party. Then I wonder to him, “is it just the same person asking over and over again?” Looks like we have our answer!

2020-12-28 17:50:02 +0000 UTCI am always going to request Victoria, I figure if I keep trying you might play it one day :D. I am curious about Jealousy and Evil Man.
