Finally: Patreon adopts € and £ as well from October 5th!

Hi everyone! :D

Finally, Patreon will allow you to use € and £ as well, avoiding any extra bank fees from those who use those currencies!
That will happen from October 5th. Here's their quick guide on how to enable it:

On Patreon.com, hover over your avatar in the top right of your screen.

  1. Click Manage memberships.
  2. Find this page, and click Edit.
  3. Under Currency, choose your preferred currency.
  4. Click Update to save your settings.

As you know, I'm from Italy, and PayPal and my bank have very high commissions. In particular, PayPal doesn't use the real USD/EUR conversion rate, but a lower one.
Furthermore, because Patreon sends me dollars, my accountant has to make other procedures, that nearly doubles their fee.

So, I'm definitely going to adopt this new feature!
Nothing will change for who's paying in dollars, that will continue to do so in the future, but I, and those who live in the EU or in the UK, will have to pay much fewer commissions.

That said, I wish you all a great day,
LenioTG! :D

Hi Delicurious! :D From what I've understood from the mail Patreon sent me, from October 5th patrons will be able to choose to pay in $, € or £, whatever currency the creator has chosen :D I don't think PayPal takes anything when you pay in another currency, but this will be beneficial to those who pay with other services, that take a commission when you do so.

The way I understand it, patreons cannot choose their currency, only creators can. Since I'm in Germany, if there is a way to get billed in €, I would say thank you 😁 Not that I think I have any benefit from that, as a patreon.
