Hashtag Basketball projections update (Notebook drop)
Added 2023-11-27 12:15:16 +0000 UTCTime for another notebook drop! Here’s the notable changes made:
Atlanta Hawks:
Jalen Johnson is set to miss 4-6 weeks with a left wrist injury, which means more playing time for Saddiq Bey, Bogdan Bogdanovic, and more usage for De'Andre Hunter. Be weary of Bogdan’s hot start to the season. He’s currently shooting 46.7% from the field, but he hasn’t had a season shooting above 44.7% since the 2020-21 season.
Boston Celtics:
Kristaps Porzingis is set to miss at least a week, so I’m temporarily upping the minutes of Al Horford and Sam Hauser. Jrue Holiday‘s shot hasn’t been falling too well since joining Boston, but this is an opportunity for him to get more shots, so keep an eye on his usage with Porzingis out.
Charlotte Hornets:
We’re yet to see any word on how much time LaMelo Ball is expected to miss with his injury, but if he misses multiple games I’m expecting Gordon Hayward to play a bigger role as a secondary ball handler while Terry Rozier handles the primary point guard duties. I’m also giving Miles Bridges another bump in minutes since they don’t seem to be holding him back at all.
Chicago Bulls:
Lowering Ayo Dosunmu‘s minutes since they aren’t playing him 25+ minutes like they did in his last 2 seasons.
Denver Nuggets:
Aaron Gordon is in the middle of a bad shooting slump, currently averaging 44.4% from the field, and 57.1% from the line in 12 games in November (so far). Have lowered his %s until he regains form.
Detroit Pistons:
Check in on your friends who are Detroit Pistons fans, because they’re struggling. On a positive note, it looks like Jaden Ivey is playing decent minutes again (hasn’t played less than 28 minutes in his last 4 games). Keep an eye on that when Bojan Bogdanovic returns.
Houston Rockets:
Improved Jabari Smith Jr‘s shooting %s as he continues to get cleaner looks in Houston. Have lowered Fred VanVleet‘s scoring and increased his assists as he transitions into more of a playmaker. His FG% is still terrible, though.
Los Angeles Clippers:
The lowball window for James Harden is as open as it’ll ever be.
Minnesota Timberwolves:
Rudy Gobert‘s blocks rate is looking more like his Utah days. Have increased them until they start to stagnate.
Portland Trailblazers:
Jerami Grant is back to being the primary scorer for Portland and the Skylar Mays run is over with the return of Malcolm Brogdon.
Sacramento Kings:
Upped De'Aaron Fox‘s scoring with him averaging 29.9 points to start the season.
Toronto Raptors:
Gave Scottie Barnes an update across the board, and increased Dennis Schröder‘s scoring.
