The scene is definitely meant to illustrate an imbalance in attention and engagement - which, if frequent, can be a real issue. This particular change scene was meant more to illustrate how being changed has become second nature to Zee, but I think that's a really interesting analysis! I can imagine the two having a thoughtful conversation about how Zee staying engaged means Ash can get more out of the change and vice versa :3
2023-04-19 20:41:13 +0000 UTCThe past few pages, I’ve just been thinking “Zee….what are you doing? You’re not even engaging Ash”. It just seems this whole sequence is very one way…and that can be a problem in a relationship. Since it’s a flashback…glad to see he is better with that (putting down the phone in “current time”). Maybe that is where this whole sequence is going…. Maybe I’m over analyzing too :)
