Oh no!, He Big!

Good news!
I have managed to Re-make the Professor for 1.6+ !

The creation of Custom Npcs on 1.6 is different than the previous version of Stardew, that means that I have to.. well... re-create all my npcs from scratch.

One super cool feature (That you can see in the image I posted above), is that we can add CUSTOM sized npcs. (While the Professor is lazy-scaled up 300%, it supports normal pixels, so detailed sprites can be uploaded).

Second note : That was a test, the Professor will have a normal size in the final version.

The process is not perfect, it is glitchy with odd collision boxes... But I think I can make it work with some workarounds (Whenever I need it for bigger npcs ;) )

I am yet to test how to add new locations, like the frat house and attach npc to it.

The dust from 1.6 hasn't settled yet. We are still getting hotfixes and ... oof... patches with new content and mechanics (While this is cool, IT BREAKS frameworks).

Some of the modding documentation for 1.6 haven´t been updated, and that creates some important confusion in how to do things.
Like,,, I have checked 3 important mods who adds content for 1.6 (Npc related) and they ALL do it in a different way. And thats scary for stability reasons.

But thats just the mechanical aspect of it, let me worry about it while you play pacefully the mod in the 1.5.6 version of the game. (For those who don´t know, you can go back to 1.5.6 through steam).

I will post about my progress porting the mod to 1.6, npcs, places, events.
Once I am done with basics, there is something I have been cosidering from a loooong time, and it may be the time to make it a reality.

You know, big mods have their own areas outside the town, while DV has small places throughout the valley.
Contentwise, is more ideal to have our own area to maximize compatibility with other mods (If the users wish to user other bigger mods).

So, while its EXTRA hard work, I may be commiting to add a new area/zone were we have a more organic livable place for the npcs. (Not for Alastor tho, he may be in another area).

The idea of the new release of DV2 is to have new content and not just an updated version for 1.6+.

Let me give you cool example of one of the new features :

-Right now I added a Hated gift for the Professor "The broken glasses" because ofc.

-We can add custom responses for when you gift npcs specific items

-We can ALSO add events/cutscenes on those responses

-So, I could make a Professor event where he teachs the farmer a lesson for this "Prank"
or, as user in my server suggested: He will teach the farmer that a "Broken glass = a broken a** " XD

Can you imagine? immersive gifting.
That same method could also be used to trigger special events. like solicitation, dominations or questline related progression.

The tools at our disposal on 1.6 are already overwhelmingly powerful, and then, there is a bunch of new frameworks that give us even more power to do many more things. (The issue with those, is that they are new and its a bit risky to use something that may or may not endure the passing of time and updates.)

So again, DV will be ported to 1.6+
This is not encouraging to say but Stardew modding passed to be easy to complex.
It needs more brainpower than before (at least for me).
Its not impossible, its just... time consuming.
I am still doing it with passion, because I love the content I make and I am excited to make and explore new things and share them with you :)

So, have some patience for good ol'Undare and you shall be rewarded :AngelicChorus:
