What's your favourite anime so far this season (aside from ERASED)?
Added 2016-02-04 23:30:02 +0000 UTCSo there's one BIG anime in winter 2016 that everyone seems to be watching, and for good reason. ERASED is flippin fantastic. But there are plenty of other shows out there that may not be getting their due. So I'm curious - aside from ERASED, what are you all keeping up with, and what keeps you coming back to it?

I'd say Ragkugo seems to have to biggest potential (even moreso than ERASED because I've heard the manga will go to shit at some point) but aside from those two, I've probably had my biggest enjoyment with KonoSuba. Its first episode was a fucking riot and the second was no bad follow-up either, episode 3 wasn't quite as great for me but 4 was pretty good again. I gotta say, what even got me into this show was your absolutely hilarious narration of the first episode on the Weebcast. I also watched the first 3 episodes of Bubuki Buranki (or BBK/BRNK) and I'm still not sure how much I like that show... its action scenes are amazing but the characters don't really make me fall in love with them. Rakugo's first episode surprisingly didn't excite me as much as it did you guys on the Weebcast but the backstory of Yakumo had me in tears on more than one occasion. Miraculously haven't watched episode 4 or 5 yet though, probably because I don't wanna watch this on a weekly basis but rather marathon it or at least watch 2-3 episodes at once. Haven't watched anything else yet, most of it seems kinda uninteresting and I'm currently having a blast with the Ghost Stories dub!

2016-02-08 20:36:02 +0000 UTCRakugo is so goddamn beautiful. I'm a little sad that my schedule in the last few days has kept me from watching it

2016-02-08 09:38:39 +0000 UTCA few have already touched on it. Erased and Rakugo absolutely flew out of the gate from the start for me. And after the 5th ep of both this week, I think I can now say Rakugo is even a step above Erased. It is just so fantastically consistent. You get so much out of the direction, animation, art. But the performances from the VAs have been top fucking notch.

2016-02-08 05:56:17 +0000 UTCBeen keeping up with a lot of anime this season. The 2nd seasons that always keeps me wanting more is Haikyu, Gundam IBO, and Shirayuki. While the new ones that I'm thoroughly enjoying currently are KonoSuba and Dimension W.

2016-02-06 06:46:11 +0000 UTCDue to my collage life being kinda hectic for the last few weeks, I haven't been watching as much stuff as I usually do, which sucks, but TBH, this season really doesn't have as many super great shows as the last few Seasons (Guess they're all holding out for Spring). But from what i HAVE been watching? Well, as you already know, Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu made me do something I never thought I would, and say a modern Studio DEEN show is really really great. But hey, every studio has it's day, and DEEN finally found something they can really do justice. The art is wonderful, the soundtrack is understated with just a hint of Jazz for good measure, and of course it's subject matter and characters are so well defined it's makes everything else airing right now look lax in comparison. And this Season has more Durarara!! in it, which has one of the best cast of characters in Anime as of late! Now that's impressive. Oh, and speaking of, Durarara!! x2 Ketsu. Some people were really hard on the first and second parts of DRRRx2, but personally, I found both of them enjoyable. Not as solid as Season 1, and it's still no where NEAR as great as it's big brother (PS. After this cour ends, Shuka BETTER be making Baccano! Season 2 happen. It's effing NEEDS it. It's not like they have any other shows on they're plate.), but i still love this insane cast of weridos in a not so weird town where anything can happen. And this last cour seems to be going into full Final Boss mode with what is happening so far. I won't go into spoilers, but some serious Sh*t is about to go down, and i'm just really interested on how this all pays off in the end. Other quick thoughts! Bubuki Buranki! I'm one of the few who doesn't seem to hate how 3D Anime like this look, so right now, this one seems fun enough. Dagashi Kashi! It's just really cute and relaxing, but not in the normal Moe Anime way, which is refreshing. Also, me and my friend keep having best girl wars over it, and that's fun every once and awhile #Saya4Life #ComeAtMeBro. AssClass Season 2! I'm waiting for the Broadcast Dub for this one, but from what I've heard from everyone, it's still just as good as Season 1, so i'd still recommend it. Dimension W! Very cool action show, but it keeps making me sad, cause every time I watch the OP, i keep getting reminded that Gangsta. Season 2 will most likely never happen (I've Read the Manga, and you guys are missing out. THE ARM. That is all I will say.) And really, that's about it. Again, School's been keeping me busy, but i have a bit of free time now, so hopefully i can catch up on some stuff. So, that's it from me, hope you liked seeing me ramble for bit!

2016-02-05 13:57:28 +0000 UTCDimension W has a premise that sounds dumb at first but actually makes for a very enjoyable show. I'm told its by the same creator as Darker than Black and has a similar style to it. Haikyuu is still the best show on TV aside from Steven Universe.

2016-02-05 03:16:28 +0000 UTCMyriad Colors is probably my favorite new show of the season, but I'm going to try and point out some things that other people haven't. This season of Durarara has remembered that it's best when the various plot threads all start speeding towards each other. I thought Galko-chan was going to be an ecchi comedy that I'd drop after an episode but it turned out to be the sex-ed class I never knew I needed. I still don't know what Sekko Boys is... but it's way better than I expected.

2016-02-05 02:34:19 +0000 UTCI'm enjoying Iron Blooded Orphans season 2. That and Erased are the 2 I'm actively seeking out every week.

2016-02-05 01:10:29 +0000 UTCRakugo seems to be the best "good" show this season, as far as I've seen. But, both Myriad Colors and KonoSuba seem to be doing a really good job executing a twist on genre pieces. In terms of pure enjoyment, KonoSuba is my top pick thus far this season, despite being easily dismissed as a combination of DanMachi and MoMoSu for anybody who feels like dismissing it. On the flip side, the show that seems most likely to pull a Punch Line and show off its hidden depths halfway through the season is probably Myriad Colors, just because it establishes so many interesting twists on the premise and is putting in so many great setups for more serious plot threads that could happen later on.

2016-02-05 00:55:46 +0000 UTCWell, for drama, my favorite (other than ERASED) had to be Rakugo. For comedy, I'm really enjoying KonoSuba. What can I say? I guess it's the Season of DEEN. Oh, and as a Monogatari fanboy, I'm obviously liking Koyomimonogatari (although it's not my favorite this season).

2016-02-05 00:34:14 +0000 UTCRakugo is absolutely fascinating. It's one of those rare shows that offers an authentic look at japanese culture and history

2016-02-05 00:25:42 +0000 UTCPart of me thinks I should do that, but then I want to get up a recap for this season so I'm still sitting through shows that I think are worth talking about even if they're not necessarily good

2016-02-05 00:20:12 +0000 UTCKonoSuba, that's it really. Since this Season is so 'Bleh-chan' I've been going into my backlog instead. (Both seasons of Kaiji, Patlabor, Tamako Market & Good ol Manga)

2016-02-04 23:44:45 +0000 UTCIt's gotta be Rakugo that stands out of the crowd for me along with Erased. The subject matter itself is very interesting, along with the characters and atmosphere.
