Big Update coming (and I will be doing more)

Hey everyone!

As most of you are probably aware, since fall of last year my interactions with Patreon have been pretty lacking. I can make a lot of excuses for this - first I was taking a lot of trips due to a new long-distance relationship, then I was moving, and since the move I’ve been playing catch up on making videos - but the fact of the matter is, I have let you guys down. I’m sorry, and I want to do better.

In that light, I plan to make three big changes to this patreon. Firstly, I’m adding rewards to the lower tiers (everything from 1 to 15 dollars) so that everyone who’s pledging gets more - and more importantly, if there’s another month where it’s hard for me to stream or hold anime night, everyone who’s pledging still gets SOMETHING of value.

I will be changing how lower tiers are credited, however, because doing a big year end video has proved infeasible and you guys deserve credit! Instead I’m gonna be doing monthly mailbag-only weebcasts where I answer questions, and all patrons will be credited on those.

Secondly, I’m gonna be opening up a public channel on the discord server, separate from the Patron-only VIP chat. I’m hoping that will make all of the discussions on there more lively and fun for everyone, and help to foster a bigger, better mother’s basement community.

Thirdly, every tier will be getting a new, creative, shilling-related pun in its title. This is maybe the most important thing of all.

You guys help keep this channel alive and make it possible for me to do what I do for a living, and I want to pay you back for that.

Here’s the full breakdown of every tier. Bold indicates a change of some kind

• Access to patreon feed, including blog posts about what I’m working on, channel updates, etc.

$3 Civ-shill-ian

• Your name entered into a monthly giveaway for… something cool. Could be a plush, a figure, or character goods, but it will come from my stupid huge collection of anime nonsense and be related to my content for the month. I’ll cover shipping. And I promise only most of the cool things will be from SAO. 
• Credits in the monthly Mailbag podcast
• A monthly 10% discount code for my store (when it launches)!

• Access to my monthly bloopers video! This will include bloopers in recording video and audio, becaused things get a bit ridiculous and I heck up a lot. (who would have guessed?)
• A guarantee that I’ll read a message from you OR answer any one question (within reason) on a special monthly Maibag podcast [p-please be gentle…)

$8 Government Offi-shill

• A monthly 20% discount code for my store (when it launches)!

• Access to my scripts. This will include completed scripts, as well as scripts that I’ve written for videos that have been scrapped or put on hold. Scripts will be uploaded once the related video is live - sometimes with commentary from me.
• Join me once a month on an exclusive anime night discord channel where we’ll watch anime together, shoot the shit, and generally have a good time.

$15 Shillionaire

• Suggest an anime/topic to cover on the Weekly WeebCast Podcast. If your suggestion is voted in (assuming you have a good microphone) you get to introduce the anime to us and talk for a bit at the start of the podcast. Potentially, you can also be part of a full podcast, but that would have to be at the discretion of me and the other hosts because having good chemistry is VERY important for a talk show.
• Let’s game. Add me on steam, PSN, where ever you want to play and we can game together. Message me through patreon, twitter or discord, to figure out when and where!

$20 Shillionaire (but this time it’s a pun on billionaire) 

• Once a month, join me in a voice call as I stream a game. Depending on the game, you may even be able to play with me. Or subject me to horrible, drinking-related punishments that non-patrons would have to donate for.

• Cameo or guest spot on the monthly State of the Basement Mailbag Weebcast. This will be dependant on us having good chemistry and you having a decent mic.

• Consultation! For up to an hour and a half per month I’ll offer you my expertise in online self-marketing, video creation, writing, game design… or anything else you might want to ask me about. Want my critical opinion of a project you’re working on? Or advice for starting your own youtube channel? You got it.

• Decide the topic of one weebcast for the month, and (if you have a good mic) record the introduction. You may even join me in the discussion (again, assuming we have good chemistry)

All of the feedback that you guys have given me already is extremely helpful - and I want to especially thank the patrons who left constructive criticism on my recent surveymonkey survey. That’s a big part of what spurred these changes.
