I was going though old artwork and came across these three pages, which I believe have not been seen anywhere else. Nearly a decade ago I had heard that Chuck Palahniuk, author of Fight Club, was planning to do a sequel as a comic book, to be published by Dark Horse Comics. I had a good and long-standing relationship with DH from my work on BPRD and they had published by original graphic novel Sin Titulo, so I asked my editor if I could be considered as the artist. They were showing Chuck various artists as options, but I wasn’t sure that my work was particularly sticking out - so I quickly drew, colored and lettered these three pages on spec as a kind of proof-of-concept. I adapted one of the last chapters of the book, that was different from David Fincher’s film version, so that I wouldn’t be too influenced. Chuck was sufficiently impressed and it ended up nabbing me the job. These pages are a decade old and I made them in only a couple of days, so some of it looks a little clunky to my eyes now, but overall I still think they’re pretty strong (I particularly like page 2).
