Peter Berg has a new limited series which I highly recommend. It's called American Primeval and stars Taylor Kitsch and Betty Gilpin.

Golly. I really really loved your guys reaction to this movie. Especially Sam. Daniel and I having seen this so many times and still getting emotional. My heart is FULL! Gotta add to my comment. Can't believe Daniel dropped a Corky Romano reference! I completely forgot about that movie. "You have a question? You do? You don't?...I should buy a boat!" iykyk

The school this is based on is one of the two high schools in the neighboring town from where I live. Their team was a formidable force in the 80s and 90s.
Yes, high school football in Texas is second only to religion in importance, lol. I was a high school cheerleader. We take that sh*t seriously.

For some reason Hollywood and sport movie's don't seem to mix well, but being a former H.S. school and small school college player, this movie was done correctly..
The pressure players deal with, while trying not to fail yourself and the guys on your squad, you can kind of deal with because they feel the same, but trying to carry the hopes of the school, the town and fans "people that have never played", that was hard..
Thanks for the video guys!!

Great movie, a little backstory that it was based on the book that a reporter from Philly went and basically embedded with the team the whole year…some of the things from that time would’ve been too unbelievable for a movie about teenagers, like how they were flying to games in chartered jets…the author caught up with the players a few years back and oddly enough Billingsley seems to be the most professional and straight laced guy of them all.

If you ever do start watching the series, you'll want to watch the whole thing, but know that S1 and then the last couple seasons are where it shines the brightest.
P.S. - The show's been gone for a while now, but I still think Coach and Tammy are the most realistic depiction of a married couple I've ever seen on tv, network or otherwise.
