After obtaining the key information from Schiller, the urgent Batman quickly left.

Compared to the possibility that Dick might have entered a rebellious phase, making him suddenly difficult to communicate with, it seems more likely that he was under the influence of hypnosis.

After all, less than a month ago, Dick was still closely following him to learn detective investigation skills. In the past 20 days, he has changed to become like an enemy. Regardless, this transformation is a bit too fast.

After Batman left, Schiller did not immediately go to sleep because he found that he did not have enough spare clothes.

The set he had used for the surgery was still drying after being washed, and the set he was wearing had also gotten dirty. With no more spare clothes, Schiller originally planned to call Telephone to the Rogue's Manor and ask Merkel to bring him some clothes. However, when Schiller came to the hospital, he had driven away the only car they had, and Merkel would have to take a taxi to come, which is not an easy task in Gotham.

Although Schiller's butler Merkel is quite capable, Schiller really didn't want to have him picked up from the police station, so he decided to drive back himself to get a few more sets of clothes.

While driving at night in Gotham is a very dangerous thing, as long as he doesn't go through those few dangerous areas, he generally won't encounter any marijuana-related troubles. Schiller took his usual route and the return trip was indeed peaceful, without any unexpected incidents.

However, as soon as Schiller stepped into the Manor's door, he heard some movement in the backyard. Going over to take a look, Schiller found Merkel burning some fertilizer.

Seeing that Schiller had returned, Merkel, who had already received the news through the Telephone, greeted him with a smile and glanced at the corpse on the ground, saying, "Sir, you're back quite quickly. I thought you'd take at least 10 more minutes... The luggage has been placed at the door of your bedroom. Do you really not need me to go help you?"

"That won't be necessary," Schiller said as he stepped on the muddy ground and approached the burning pile, noticing that some things seemed to be completely unburnable.

Schiller took a gardening shovel and raked through the fire, pulling out a few charred metal parts. Merkel explained, "There have been these doll-like monsters trying to climb over the back wall recently, but Alfred gave me a plant that can move, and they've all been captured by the plant's tentacles."

"A moving plant?" Schiller looked at Merkel with some confusion, but soon his vision was filled by the trembling tentacles of the small Demon Hexagon that he had brought back from hell, which was now planted in a large flower pot.

"How did Alfred give it to you?" Schiller asked with some surprise. "I thought he would have liked this peculiar potted plant."

Merkel sighed and said, "Mr. Alfred did like this Demon plant... But you remember, right? Aisha especially likes things that move. On the first day at Wayne Manor, this poor Demon had half its tentacles bitten off, and if it got bitten any more, it would have died. So Mr. Alfred could only give it to me."

The small Demon Hexagon timely drooped all its tentacles, making a sad expression. Schiller leaned in for a closer look and found that the plant in the pot was not actually the vine Demon, but a cluster of Shadow Ore with the Hexagon's body wrapped around it.

Merkel and Schiller turned their attention back to the fire pit, and Merkel said with lingering fear, patting his chest, "When I first saw that monster, I was really scared. It's so ugly, just like a stitched-up freak."

"The one that came a few days ago, I just finished disposing of it. But I didn't expect another one to show up after nightfall. I heard you were coming back to get some clothes, and I originally wanted to bury it first, but then I thought it would be better to just burn it."

Schiller nodded, thinking Merkel's handling was appropriate. But at that moment, a gust of wind blew, making Schiller cough as the thick smoke from the burning was blown towards him. Schiller quickly changed direction.

He told Merkel, "Your combat abilities, I don't need to worry about. Now with this Demon guarding the garden, the Manor should be safe. But you'd better not go out easily, as it's not very peaceful outside right now."

After giving a few more instructions, Schiller went upstairs to get his luggage. Just as he was about to walk out of the Manor door, he noticed the flag on the Mailbox was raised.

In the Manor district, every household has a Mailbox, and the side of the Mailbox has a small flag. When the paperboy delivers newspapers or letters, he would raise the flag. The butler looking out the window would then know that the papers and mail have arrived, without needing any communication to avoid disturbing the manor owner's sleep.

The flag is made of wood, not a soft material, and won't stand up on its own if no one raises it. Schiller felt something was off, so he went to check. As soon as he approached the Mailbox, he caught a whiff of a decaying odor, feeling quite nauseated. He stepped back and called Merkel over.

Merkel came forward, opened the Mailbox, and found a decayed ear inside, looking more like a pig's ear. Most of the ear was decayed, but the tip still had a good patch of skin with a large capital letter "V" branded on it.

Merkel used tongs to pick up the ear and throw it to the ground, then found an envelope deeper in the Mailbox. He threw the envelope to the ground as well, stepping on it with his foot and trying to open it with the tongs, but it wasn't easy.

Schiller directly picked up the envelope and, to Merkel's astonishment, opened it with his bare hands. There was no writing on the letter, only a simple drawing of a pig's head, but with one ear missing.

Schiller paused for a moment, then tossed the letter to Merkel, saying, "Burn it."

Merkel looked at the drawing and asked Schiller, "Uh, sorry, sir, but may I ask what this means?"

"I don't know, I don't understand it," Schiller shook his head.

"Okay, seems like it's something I'm not supposed to know," Merkel muttered to himself, then took the pig's ear and the envelope back to the backyard to burn them.

Schiller picked up his luggage and left by car, taking the same route as before. But as his car was passing through a narrow street, another car suddenly came towards him from the opposite direction.

This was a one-way street, and the road was very narrow. There was no space at all for the two cars traveling in opposite directions to pass each other. If they were normal Gotham drivers, they would probably have already drawn their guns and exchanged fire.

But Schiller didn't hesitate at all. He immediately started reversing at top speed to get out of the street.

The oncoming car was confused. It had already slowed down, planning to stop, but Schiller had already reversed, leaving it space. If it stopped now, it would look a bit foolish.

So it just kept going, planning to stop at Schiller's position. But Schiller executed a smooth right-side reverse turn, driving out onto a road perpendicular to the street, not giving the other car any chance to stop.

Schiller just kept driving forward without looking back, and the other car, as if unwilling to give up, kept chasing him. When they reached the main road, Schiller saw in the rearview mirror that another car had joined the chase behind the one trying to hit him.

Due to Schiller's incredibly fast reversing speed, the two cars, having failed to catch him, started chasing each other instead.

Schiller drove onto the ring road, and they followed him, going round and round the ring road. This chase battle went on for a full seven hours, until dawn, but Schiller still had no intention of getting off the highway.

Finally, the two cars couldn't keep up anymore. The one in front turned off, and the one behind it followed. At this point, Schiller, who had been sleeping soundly in the driver's seat with his eyes closed, opened his eyes and said, "Thank you, Grey Mist, you drove well."

He then stretched and yawned, saying, "I might not sleep as well back at the hospital."

A car slowly pulled into the Arkham Asylum parking lot, and as Schiller got out and walked towards his office, he found someone waiting there.

"Oh, Professor Schiller, it's me, Roman. Do you remember me?" a young man approached him.

Schiller didn't intend to shake his hand, but hurried to the nearby bathroom to wash his hands, as he had just handled a letter that had been with a decayed pig's ear, and shaking hands would be impolite.

Roman's expression stiffened for a moment as he withdrew his outstretched hand, but he quickly plastered a smile back on and said, "Professor, about that thing I mentioned last time, what do you think..."

"I know what's going on with Dick now, the problem is actually with his school... Roman, you're here too?" Bruce arrived, pausing for a moment, then shrugged with a smile, "Looks like we're on the same wavelength, always running into each other."

Roman's smile stiffened again, and as Bruce walked into the room, he caught a faint smell of something burnt.

Following the scent, Bruce turned his head and saw Schiller, who still had water on his hands. The cigarette smell and burnt odor were coming from him.

In fact, before coming here, Bruce had called the appointment desk, and Mrs. Miller had told him that Schiller had just gone to the office. Normally, Schiller wouldn't be here this early, so if he was here now, it meant he hadn't slept all night.

Wondering if Schiller had been out disposing of a body, Bruce decided the first thing he needed to do was get Roman to leave, afraid that Schiller might consider him a witness and do something to him tonight.

"Sorry, Roman, even though I came later, I now have something very important to discuss with Professor Schiller. Could you please leave first?"

The standing Roman was taken aback, about to speak, but Bruce used a very firm tone, saying, "I'll make sure to send a strongly worded recommendation letter to your father. It's best if you don't come here for a while."

To Bruce's surprise, upon hearing this, Roman's expression gradually darkened, his sunny demeanor turning gloomy and neurotic.

"Damn it, you two are playing me!"
