ONE OK ROCK - DETOX (Full Album Listen Through)

Yeah, I've had time to listen through it a few more times as well. Definitely could've ordered the songs better. I think This Can't Be Us is the most basic. I would've been okay if they replaced that one, but I get why they put it in there. I think if they had put Matter at the end of the album, that would've been a nice way to end the album on an upbeat positive note. I also thought if they would've added the instrumental that they play at the beginning of Delusionall as filler track could've been cool. I think Tiny Pieces is a good song, but that back to back with This Can't Be Us in the middle of the album is a little too much of a lull for me. I like Party's Over, I just don't think the chorus is that catchy, and the strongest and fullest part of the chorus is the last line, as opposed to coming in strong at the beginning, especially in contrast to how energetic the verses are. Definitely gives it a unique sound though.

I like the idea! I'm in the process of setting up a Buy Me Coffee, with a structure that works for Patreon, and maybe YouTube

Hi Jaron, question can I request songs for $20.00 per song. If yes, do you have Venmo or PayPal, or Buy Me Coffee? Let me know.

So I went on a walk round the park today to listen to the whole album again without any distractions, and I think Party's Over is now very close to dethroning Puppets Can't Control You as my favourite on the album :-) Incidentally, according to some Japanese commenters, the weirdly incongruous "Spanish-sounding" intro is apparently a homage to one of Taka's mum's most famous enka hits, θΆŠε†¬γ€γ°γ‚ (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTUuzOu5iiw), and after listening to it, I can sort of see it. Also, without the influence of the music video, Tropical Therapy feels less emotional and vibes more upbeat. Really looking forward to how this one comes across live. The Pilot is also moving up in my appreciation, but the slow ballads sadly don't work at all for me - they feel way too generic and bland, but at least that means +Matter is no longer my least favourite song on the album, though I don't think I will ever be able to listen to it without cringing a bit, sorry (I don't think where it's placed on the album helps at all - maybe it would work better as the first or last song, but where it is it really sticks out like a sore thumb to me. Overall the album feels a bit unbalanced and oddly lacking in structure or a clear line, but hey, there is enough really good stuff in there to satisfy anyone, and it does cater to different tastes)
