Pick a Movie for JL!!!
Added 2022-10-27 18:18:06 +0000 UTCNow that JLoween is over (and mad props to J for being a trooper for our entertainment), it's time to get back in that non-horror exclusive swing. Following Halloween Day's The Exorcist release, we have The Breakfast Club, The Truman Show, Back to the Future, and Rocky V coming up the next couple of weeks, so you all pick the movie that follows Rocky V on that upcoming Friday. We picked a mixed bag of more comedy and action (and some sports), so let's see what J's watching next week. Poll runs now to Monday morning.

You complained about literally all the horror polls. You complained about us even doing horror movies in general in October. Now, you're complaining about this poll. And NONE of the complaints have been founded on anything more than "Well, *I* just don't like it." It gets old, dude. It gets REALLY old. There's definitely a problem here at times, but it certainly has nothing to do with the polls or the people voting on them. And as much as we will always appreciate and love the support of everyone here and even put up with all the nonsense stuff towards us (it comes with the job), you aren't going to slam others on here for simply voicing what they like and want to see as a "problem" JUST because you don't like it, either. You can always voice your displeasure, just be nice if you'd find a much less condescending and childish way to do it.

2022-11-01 19:25:50 +0000 UTCMeh... Big Trouble in Little China was a forgettable action flick when it came out. it is in no way an iconic classic like, say, Lethal Weapon. Commando was essentially a Steven Segal movie that happened to start Arnold Schwarzeneggar, but the quality of the writing, directing, special fx, is all on par with a simplistic B-movie action flick starring Segal or Van Damme, absolutely not worth reacting to. Mad Max is a cult classic indie movie, kind of simplistic, not sure it stands up to test of time now we are so used to big budget post-apocalyptic movies, but spawned the Road Warrior franchise, so I guess it's worth a look, but not something to get super excited about (but if he watches it so he can then proceed to watch the other Road Warrior movies, which were super awesome, then I really would want this to win). Bull Durham is a dated baseball movie; I did not think it was very funny when it came out, did not buy the love story, just a "meh" movie that did resonate with some people (older? from more rural areas? not sure...), but ultimately forgettable imo. That leaves BASEketball, which was a semi-raunchy and politically incorrect movie with enough smart and funny stuff to be pretty good (not great); not iconic, but funny enough to be a good reaction movie since seeing reactors laugh at stuff makes me laugh at it again. So the only votes worth casting on here are for Mad Max or BASEketball. If you vote for any other movie, then you are part of the problem; quit being part of the problem.
