ENTERPRISE - s1e21 "Detained"

Welcome to bonus Enterprise pod #1, Lieutenants!  Archer and Mayweather are captured, and in an episode that could be ripped from today's headlines, Archer really underlines the WWII source event more than anybody needs him to, proving once again that Star Trek people just can't stop talking about the 20th Century.

Post your Enterprise-related comments/questions here for consideration for bonus Enterprise pod #2!

This makes no sense at all. Rosé is for spring and summer, Hocus Pocus is for fall - late September at the earliest!

"Ain't It Funny" belongs to a class of pop songs that causes one or more songs from Crazy Ex-girlfriend to get stuck in my head (in this case "Friendtopia" and "Without Love" mashed up with each other). According to my understanding, this is because Adam Schlesinger (RIP, taken from us too soon) was a skilled student of the eight Scandinavian music producers who have made all pop music since 1997, though they were only setting down the rudiments of their art back in 2002. So in the same way that your cell phone has three thousand times more computing power than NASA had when it got Neil Armstrong onto the moon, the height of lab-grown, toe-tapping polyrhythm from 2002 was within a few decades so omnipresent and readily exploitable that it was put to the service of a gag song about enslaving the world population to make us all drink rosé and watch Hocus Pocus. (This is also the plot to that Voyager episode where the Doctor wants his holonovel royalties.)

Matt & Andy were right about Malcolm being more interesting in this episode as a Suliban. Up until this point I feel poor Malcom could have been walking around the bridge dressed as a pineapple and still no-one would have looked up from their Dell monitors. Good for Mal!
