Angel - 2x01 "Judgment" FULL REACTION

Here I was waiting breathlessly for your reaction to the karaoke demon, and I totally forgot about Merl. I always loved his performance as the shifty snitch! LOL! Glad you enjoyed this one - hope you love the season!

Oh my goodness, that opening. Such a bold, wonderfully surreal choice. A demon singing “I Will Survive” and talking about weird L.A., providing a new twist to the noir nature of this show. “Judgment” is somewhat of a mirror episode to the series premiere, “City of…”: a singing demon providing narration instead of pretend-drunk Angel; a demon karaoke club instead of a seedy human bar; Angel doing some nighttime medieval jousting in the streets of L.A. instead of flinging a modern vampire from a skyscraper in broad daylight; Angel failing to save the demon in the vision but ultimately saving the damsel. Did Angel fail? I sometimes wonder about the visions. You can see David break when both Cordy and Wes yelp at the book. DB covers his face. I love catching him break, like when he slapped Wesley’s crossbow out of his hand in “Parting Gifts.” Also, how adorable was Angel continuing to sing after his song had ended. Karaoke demon had to wrench the microphone from Angel. Mandy? And Angel knows all the words? Spike would have a field day with that. I started crying when I saw Faith. I recently watched GON’s reactions to “Bad Girls”/“Consequences” and Liam’s reactions to “Five by Five”/“Sanctuary,” so the Angel/Faith (& Buffy) parallels hit me harder this time. Angel and Faith’s rapport was so comfortable that it didn’t seem like his first visit. My head canon is that he visits her regularly. I love their friendship and how their paths of redemption are entwined. It’s an unusual season premiere. I love the continuous world building: I never thought we’d have a demon karaoke bar run by a sassy green demon who reads people’s auras. And we have the Angel version of Willy the Snitch with Merle. Now AI needs to get a new office. And how adorable was Cordelia spelling out “ghost” to avoid hurting Dennis’s feelings? Everyone’s grown so much. Great reaction! Dropbox reactions are glitchy for me sometimes, but I can download them, and they're fine.

"First I was afraid, I was petrified....." My favourite opening shot of any Angel season opener - a singing green demon with a gorgeous voice and a total diva to boot in a snappy suit! Your face Liam was excellent at this image before you - probably very similar to mine when I first saw this episode :) I LOVE the demon karaoke bar, and the idea that the green demon is psychic and can read you when you sing I think is a fantastic idea. Angel's singing - and musical taste! -is painful, LOL! Barry Manilow!! the end credits are so funny though - it's fun to see David laughing at himself doing bad singing. On the main plot, it's ok. I also find the jousting a bit odd. I think that the writers thought it'd be amusing to have Angel on horse jousting in the middle of the street, and to have him literally be a knight saving a damsel. But even though it probably supposed to be a knowing dig at the knight/damsel trope - I kinda find it too literal. I like the actress that plays the pregnant woman though. I know Justina Machado from Six Feet Under on which she was a regular - I loved that show, was on form 2001-2005. On the pregnant woman and the main plot though - it made no sense to me that she thought Angel wasn't any good at anything. I mean - he killed her champion quite quickly and easily, so stands to reason that's he stronger/ a better fighter than her original protector. Yup, he fucked up - but is obviously good at fighting rather than useless. I enjoy seeing Gunn show up again too. And I also really liked Merle the snitch character, I though he was well acted, and yeah, great make up. Thanks for a great reaction Liam. Dropbox works fine for me btw.

I only realized that recently because I didn't watch ODAAT until last year (great show). I wish they gave Jo some characterization -- she's just "pregnant lady who needs protection." Other one-off characters had better lines and scenes. That's the one glaring flaw in an otherwise good episode with some fantastic moments.

I agree that you could raise prices as others said. Have a look at other reactors and see what might work. Dropbox worked perfectly for me, I think i prefer itbwcause it gives me the 15sex skip button so i can shoot through the opening credits :) great reaction. The karaoke bar, Angel singing and the prison visit with Faitharehighlights for me :)

This worked really well, definitely better than google drive for me anyway. Agree with what others have said about raising your prices for full reactions, or keep the $1 tier and just make it for specific reactions (so Buffy only, or OUAT only). Just some ideas.

Yay! So excited for this season! Angel season 2 with Buffy season 5 is the strongest combined Buffyverse era, in my opinion. Lots of good stuff to come!

Usually I have to download dropbox ones (which is fine) but everything streamed perfectly this time! I think this is my favorite episode for Gunn of the 4 we've seen, he brings the right kind of energy to the table. I use that "ok I could have just said no/yes" line when certain jokes of mine fall flat.
