I second many of the above. The reason you are one of my favorite reactors is that you pick up on so much, many things that I didn't pick up on in a first viewing. It makes it kind of like watching it for the first time again, but better.

This show is brilliant. It starts S1 light-hearted and builds up slowly to S5 where we meet death. And to add to that, we meet S6, a conflict that is truly unique for TV. I still haven't seen a show depict the raising a friend from the dead story-line better than this. A ton of shows do it, but I think this show depicts it better through the stakes and consequences. A) Bringing her back is tough and nearly impossible. B) She has to dig through a grave once back to life. C) She is so traumatized she has to have Dawn talk her down. I can't wait for more reactions.

I second this statement!!! Probably my most anticipated episode of this season! 😁😁👏👏

I notice that every time, I assume it's supposed to be Razor standing up behind them but the continuity is ruined by the next shot showing him waking up on the ground... and then it cuts to him on his feet and ready to fight... :P

I really feel like this comment should be mark for spoilers. This episode doesn't inherently imply what your comment does.

So excited for you to embark on this S6 journey - and quite the journey it is.
Please make sure you’re watching the unedited version of Ep 7 - it’s significantly longer than a normal episode. Very important! ☺️

Season 6 is my favourite as well. It has more of my favourite episodes of the series on this season. We have been waiting so long for Liam to get here and now we are!!! I am so excited for the reactions. And yes absolutely, Michelle and Sarah were amazing in this episode. I also love that scene when Xander realises that Buffy had to crawl out of her own grave, love it.

"Is this Hell?" God, that breaks my heart every time, and Buffy's expression when Dawn hugs her. 😢 Great insights, Liam.

My Head Cannon: When Buffy Bot asks the head demon guy for him and his ‘friends’ to leave, and he corrects her, telling her that they aren’t just his friends but his ‘boys’, that is because the whole biker demon gang is in one big polyamorous relationship.

One of my biggest takeaways from this episode is how traumatic the ending sequence must have been for Dawn. I bet she had the worst survivors guilt and has probably been thinking about all the things she could have said to Buffy to keep her from jumping in the Gift, I know I would have. And now she has a second chance to say all those things. To talk her sister down from suicide. Dawn, who lost her entire family and found out she isn't real, all in the past 6 months or so. The universe has been incredibly unfair to Dawn.

Just rewatched this ep ahead of you to refresh myself. The version I streamed is one of the 16:9 formats. The PIP one you use must be the other. In my version, the same blurry guy can be seen retracing his steps every time they present Buffy's view from the tower looking down at the pavement below. Your version didn't have that.
Both 16:9 versions look a bit odd when presenting Buffy's bleary eyed perspective. IMO, that effect looks better in the original 4:3 version, as intended.

Glad you are loving season 6 so far Liam! I can't wait for more reactions!
Bargaining pt 1 and 2 are probably my favorite of the season openers. And it's also my favorite version of the Scooby Gang, which is basically the same as Season Five minus Riley, who I never really considered part of the gang, but he was always there so what can you do!
.
One of the creepiest visuals of this series is when CorpseBuffy turns into AliveBuffy. And seeing her eyes rolls back like a slot machine was bizarre. Hey, didn't any of Scoobies think they if they're planning on bringing Buffy back to life and it works, that she'd STILL be in the DAMN coffin! I guess when Willow was saying she wanted to go over everything one more time, the actual getting Buffy OUT of the coffin part was skipped over. I didn't see any shovels around when the spell was going on, what did they think? Buffy would magically appear out of thin air? Poor Buffy having to claw her way out. I never like seeing any kinds of scenes where people are alive in coffins or tight spaces, it freaks me the hell out.
why the hell wasn't that damn tower taken down by now?! :) OH wait, Buffy and Dawn still had a scene to do, that's why! :)
It was disturbing when the demon biker leader was in the alley with the Scoobies and basically says that he and some of his boys would have their way with them and that some of them have "anatomical incompatibilites that tend to tear up little girls." Ugh, really writers? Gross.
I loved when the show does callbacks, as in the scene in the Magic Box where Tara is doing the spell to find Willow. We saw Willow do it back in Season Four when she was looking for Oz at the haunted Frat House in Fear,Itself. She called on Aradia also.
Buffybot pulled apart like that? .... it was kind of hard to watch, even though she's just a robot, it still felt so violent. Rest in pieces Buffybot, I don't know if you're coming back from that one! But I hope so. You think we'll see her again Liam?
Liam- were you surprised you'd be seeing Buffy back this soon or did you think it would be a little later?

Have I mentioned how much I love this season. Out of all the reactors I've watched, you are the one I've been looking forward to seeing this season the most, Liam. You pick up on stuff, and have more insight into little things that I've not seen from other reactors (even though I enjoyed their reactions as well). Can't wait for the next episodes.

Fun piece of trivia: The actor who played Razor in this Buffy two parter, Franc Ross, would go on to guest star in another Whedon show. He played Monty in the Firefly episode "Trash".

Fantastic reaction Liam. You always have such great insight and I love your thoughts at the end here.
I actually find these demons very creepy and horrifying, with what they threatened to do to the Scoobies, goes to a very dark place.
On a brighter note, I too love the scenes/relationship between Dawn & Spike here, him protecting her, and I love her riding pillion with Spike on the bike. Not what you would expect from a soulless vamp, making sure she wears a helmet :) ( Still loving the carnage though ). How Spike gets the bike is so badass and one of my fave badass moments with Spike, rather than comedic or emotional.
I love Xander's line " How long have you known you girlfriend is Tinkerbell?" :)
First time round, I too was surprised about how emotional I was about the Buffybot's death.
Some really great acting from Michelle Trachtenberg in her scenes with Buffy up on the tower.
Poor traumatised Buffy. Waking up 6 feet under in your coffin is pretty damn horrific.

The transition from being dead might be traumatizing. 🤔 But thinking about it, maybe the transition into being 'living' might be more traumatizing. Babies go through it and they're pretty much throwing an epic fit the whole time.
~HISTORICAL TIDBIT~ This aired 19 years ago when I was 13. I still remember sitting in my bedroom watching on the little extra TV my family had (think a tiny box model kind of like Spike's in his crypt except not black and white). I still remember 1) feeling 😨 at the sight of corpse!Buffy's eyes reanimating and 2) the 😱 at BuffyBot quartering. That was messed. And is still messed, I avert my eyes.
(And I also absolutely love the beautiful emotionality in that final scene with Dawn. I even did back then which is saying something because as a teenager I did not process any narrative information. My main takeaway/complaint Of Mice and Men was 'Lenny acts like he's stupid or something pfff.')

I think they told the first important story that they had to tell in seasons 2 & 3. Lucky for us there were plenty more stories.
If it's tough for Dawn and Spike having a walking, talking reminder of what they've lost, I can only imagine what it's like for Giles. His succinct explanation of the traditional relationship between Slayer and Watcher was very real to him. That was how Giles was educated and trained. Now he's learning about the aftermath.
The fact that their last hours were full of confrontations probably doesn't help him cope. And since the confrontation was about killing Dawn – with him on the 'kill her' side – it must feel very awkward for Giles to see her every day. I doubt that was something that came up in conversation very often.

You made some extremely astute comments at the end. I won't single any out because it could be spoilery but it just shows how in sync you are with this show. I love how emotionally invested you are! It sets you a mile apart from any other reactor.

They do both call on Aradia, not sure on that spelling though, so I would say yes.

ah the feels... Buffy up on that tower, reliving her death... And then Dawn's monologue... The trauma poor Buffy has been through in just that short space of time. Wow. S6 2-parter is an amazing opener. Looking forward to more reactions as always! :D

I’ve wondered, but never actually bothered to check.
The tinkerbell spell Tara does, is that similar to the one willow attempts in “Fear itself”

I love this episode so much!! (I'm talking about both parts one and two as one)
The heartbreak, the trauma, a few laughs sprinkled in (I'm looking at you and your fear of rabbits, Anya) and then the parallels atop the tower of Glory. She made the choice to die to protect Dawn the first time. This time she made the choice to live, for the same reason. Such an emotional moment, which makes me sob like a baby every time. Both Michelle and Sarah killed it.
Season 6 is my favourite season, because, while it's still "Buffy the vampire slayer", it's definitely more mature, as seen by the toll it takes on Willow during the resurrection
I can't wait for the next one!

Dawn is the MVP of this episode for me. Her little monologue she has with Buffy up on that tower always makes me ugly cry without shame. Michelle did such a great job at portraying the desperation in Dawn needing her sister back
