Trade and Money

I wanted to briefly talk about money within the Our Fierce Differences universe just to get it straight in my head.

Money only comes in multiples of ten within Narakyian society called Zan.
For smaller transactions Narakyian will often negotiate small favours between each other, or put it on long running tabs. Unlike humans, Narakyian have fantastic memories and tend to be very honest with their transactions, so this system is rarely abused. Negotiations do not last long, Narakyian tend not to think too deeply about their profits and losses.

The going rate for a good meal in the city is about 30 Zan.

Smaller settlements like towns will often pool together resources so money isn't too commonly used other then to trade outside the town. Taxes come in the form of water acquisition. Each community, whether a small village or a community within a city are expected to give water which is pooled together and doled out depending on the needs of people.
