2024-09-01 13:01:20 +0000 UTCAaaaaa I love world building stuff like this 🥰 GIMME MOOORE (at your own time/pace of course… but seriously FEED ME LORE PLS) It makes me curious how many “secret relationships” there are since “Love” is so taboo in their culture. Judging by our own RL taboos and how many people defy the norm, I always assume it’s more than just our main characters who are capable of breaking it, they just have to hide it well amongst their peers. (Obviously our Nara and Wasai are trying to hide those dangerous feelings, but I bet they ain’t the only ones 😤)

2024-08-29 21:51:13 +0000 UTCSame-sex marriages are pretty non-existant except between trans couples because kids can't be produced (not to say it doesn't happen, there's a lot of same-sex narakyian couples out there that want to marry for romantic/family reasons, but that's seen as taboo. i completely imagine there's a market for underground devotion ceremonies or something tho)

2024-08-29 21:42:15 +0000 UTCBecause marriage is for conception (as having kids legitimizes connections) they don't do same-sex marriage. Trans Narakyian will marry though if the couple can have kids. This isn't to say that same-sex couples don't want to marry, a lot of them do, the culture just sort of sucks that way as it hyper focuses on bloodlines.
