List of my cameras
Added 2024-03-05 21:01:00 +0000 UTCEach time im looking at my old footage I feel sorry for the low resolution from the first digital Cameras. If someone is interested about the cameras I used here a list:
From the early 80s I had for round about 20 years an Pentax ME Super - I took the Pentax all around Europe on bike and shot mostly on travels with film.
In 2002 I bought my first digital Camera - a Minolta Dimage 7i - and started being more focused on portraits. Very soon I wasn't happy with the quality - the worst thing was the time gap between pressing the shutter and the shot and the very hight noise if the light was a bit lower. ISO 400 and higher was so noisy ... the recent Photoshop version does a pretty good job to reduce the noise. I should show you a before and after 🤔
In 2003 I bought my first DSLR a Canon 10D - it was wow comparing to the Minolta. The noise was way better, the shutter speed and the use was like I was used to work with the Pentax.
With the 10D I found my passion for prime (fixed focal) lenses - the most photos are made with a 50mm/F1.4 lens.
In summer 2011 it was time to replace the 10D - the resolution was meanwhile to low and so I got my full frame DSLR a Canon 5D Mark II - this was reaching an other lever - and after the first few shootings I was so happy with the resolution and having no crop factor on the focal length anymore. I kept the 10D as backup camera.
In Summer 2020 I replaced the 5D Mark II with a Canon Mark IV - since the price for the Mark IV was so hight I decided to buy a used one. I sold the 10D and kept the 5D Mark II as backup camera. I'm still very happy with the 5d Mark IV and will keep it as long as possible.
Favorite lens is 50mm/F1.2 - for those of you who aren't into the topic of cameras - sorry, I hope it wasn't to nerdy .... and final statement:
The lens is more important than the camera body.
Update: The model is more important than the equipment.
