TBE Chapter 102

TBE Chapter 102

Ezekiel saw Edward the minstrel observing the wooden decorative items that he purchased from the system store. When the minstrel saw the post it notes that Ezekiel wrote on for each of the item that contained the price each of them would sell for, Edward the minstrel asked him a question.

“Is that the price you’re planning to sell them for?”

“Normally, it would be 20 copper coins higher, so I can bring the prices down to the original price that I’m supposed to sell them if they haggle. Right now, I have written the original price to give you a chance to sell them if you want to. Usually, it would only take a few hours for all of them to sell out. If you handle the selling, any amount above the price would be your commission. Are you interested? If you don’t want to, then I can continue selling them myself.”

“Let me handle it then,” Edward simply said.

After that, they returned to the main house to prepare themselves to sleep. Before sleeping, he asked Simon and Edward if they preferred to have their bedroom and washroom on top of the stable.

“I want to listen to the bedtime stories,” Simon said while blushing.

Ezekiel continued reading them the One Piece Manga that he purchased from his system store. Edward's sleeping bag was placed beside Simon, and he also started listening to the story that he was telling his brothers.

Ezekiel assumed that Edward would have a hard time understanding the manga since it was a continuation of the story. Soon, Robert and Luke were asleep, so he stopped and started sleeping as well.

Of course, Ezekiel didn’t trust Edward fully, so the butcher sleeping knives surrounded them, and Yuki Onna was perched by the window. Ezekiel, Robert, and Luke were also protected by the Mage Armor spell.

All of them woke up early the next day, and as usual, they spent a few minutes doing their morning ablutions and eating the breakfast that Ezekiel retrieved from his 4th tab space. Edward the minstrel was surprised when Ezekiel dispelled the Galder’s Tower.

“You can banish the houses? Why did you leave the previous ones that we stayed in?” The minstrel asked.

“I thought that you would not be joining us. I didn’t want you to know about my magic then, and the houses would disappear by themselves after a few more hours.”

Their journey was still very slow, but that day, the minstrel filled the air with his songs, which Ezekiel admitted were enjoyable. Whenever the minstrel wasn’t singing, Ezekiel and Edward were talking.

Edward shared all the information he knew about the places that they would pass through. He also talked about what they could safely sell and how much they items they could sell without pointing a target on their back.

For testing, Ezekiel purchased a kilo of salt and a kilo of pepper for a total of 2 silver coins and would allow Edward to sell them. Of course, he didn’t tell Edward how much he bought them for.

When Edward saw the kilo of pure white salt and the fragrant black peppers, the minstrel was flabbergasted and promised Ezekiel that he would sell them for tens of gold coins. Ezekiel told Edward that he would get 10 percent of the total gross income of the spices, which made the minstrel highly excited. Ezekiel wondered how many gold coins the minstrel would be able to sell the spices for.

Their next stop would be a huge town called Cleaveland. The name amused Ezekiel because of its familiarity but Edward told him that it the name was based on a famous warrior that originated from that town who liked cleaving his enemies with a sword. Allegedly.

Based on the speed of their movement, it would take three more days before they arrived at that town.

The good thing about having a very vocal minstrel at their party, Ezekiel wouldn’t have to be wary about encountering anyone on the road, although with Simon joining them, that fear disappeared already.

The next three days were mostly the same. They spent the days leisurely traveling with Robert and Luke, tirelessly playing. Every night, Ezekiel would continue teaching everyone English and the local language, and they continued eating generously three times a day.

Ezekiel returned to practicing his spells because he truly wanted to familiarize himself with all of the spells. Once he received the gold coins from the sale of the spices, he planned to purchase all the remaining spells so he could practice them.

His magic practices were done every time they camped for the night. Ezekiel would find a clearing near where the Galder’s Towers were erected and would start his practice there. He allowed Edward the minstrel to watch him practice his magic, but didn’t provide any details of the spells that he was casting.

The first time Edward the minstrel watched him practice his spells, the man looked terrified, and Ezekiel even saw the minstrel crouched down with his hands in his ears. The devastation that his spells did to the clearing would truly put the fear of god into any normal person who could see it.

Ezekiel only did the spell practice once because Edward told him that there could be people nearby because of the proximity of the town, and his spell casting was very loud.

He also started talking to everyone in English for practice. At first, everyone was having difficulty understanding him, but after a few hours, everyone was getting used to the language. Especially when Ezekiel started telling the bedtime stories in English.

Because of their extremely slow speed, Edward the minstrel miscalculated, since even after three days, they still hadn’t reached Cleaveland town. They did encounter a lot more travelers. They were from the surrounding villages delivering food and other items to the town.

Since everyone was getting used to English, Ezekiel surprised everyone on the last night before arriving at the new town. He purchased a portable inverter generator, a wide-screen television, speakers, and a DVD player. He then purchased several movies from his system store that he thought his brothers would appreciate. He spent a whopping 4 gold coins on everything.

After dinner that night, Ezekiel set up everything with Simon’s assistance. They placed the generator just outside the bedroom door so the noise could be cancelled by the door. A good thing was that the generator was small enough and that there was enough space for the equipment. Then Ezekiel asked Simon to place the 65-inch television on the wall facing the bed so they could watch movies while they were lying down on the bed.

“What are these?” Robert asked, but he’s not the only one who was curious.

“This is one of the reasons why I taught everyone how to speak English,” Ezekiel said.

They were still speaking in English since he really wanted his brothers to understand the movies that came from his home planet.

After everything was set up, he told everyone to lie down on their beds and sleeping bags, and he would start the magic soon. When everyone was comfortable, Ezekiel turned on the television and the DVD player, then inserted the Disney movie Beauty and the Beast into the player. He joined his brothers on the bed and then played the film.

When the movies started, Ezekiel wasn’t watching the film but watching the faces of his brothers, Simon and Edward. He almost laughed out loud because everyone’s mouths were open, and it was the first time he had seen the expression “jaws dropping” happen literally.

Ezekiel could appreciate how great the voice actors were, especially the singers. He saw that everyone was focused on watching every scene of the film.

After the movie was done, Ezekiel let it run until the credit scenes were over, and then he turned off the television and the DVD player.

“So, what do you all think?” Ezekiel asked.

“It’s the best thing I’ve ever seen!” Robert shouted, and Luke just cheered loudly.

The two boys then suddenly hugged Ezekiel tightly, and he could feel his two brothers’ appreciation for letting them see something magical.

“How was it made?” Edward the minstrel, who still looked flabbergasted, asked.

“It’s called an animation. It’s just drawings that were animated by machines. The voices were real people's voices who were trained singers and actors.

“Just like what Robert had said, it’s the best thing I’ve ever seen!” Edward the minstrel exclaimed.

Simon was speechless while Robert and Luke continued cheering.

“Let’s watch it again!” Luke suddenly shouted, and based on everyone’s reactions, they too wanted to watch the film again.

“No. We can watch a new movie the next time we stop somewhere. It’s very late, and tomorrow we’ll arrive at the new town.”

Robert and Luke pouted but obeyed and lay down on the bed. They kept talking about the film though. About how scary the beast was and how beautiful Belle was. They talked about how they would find someone as beautiful as Belle to marry someday.

Edward the minstrel and Simon were also talking to each other about the film, but after a few minutes, Ezekiel scolded everyone and told them that it was time to sleep.
