Crystal Caves
Added 2016-04-13 09:50:23 +0000 UTCI have not drawn much natural caverns so it was refreshing to draw this map for Mike Diamond, one of my $3 tier patrons as his custom map reward.
I was asked to make a cavern tunnel system with a room big enough for a boss fight and some crystal shards sticking up from the floor. I'm always in when subterranean crystal shards and boss fights are involved and I got pretty much an idea of a volcanic tunnels filled with stalagtites and stalagmites and a lot of level variation. I wanted to add an underground river to work as a kind of a main feature tying everything together. I also wanted to add a few caves that would be more difficult to find or that could be used as quick hiding places when running away from some vile beasts.
