Here's a map I did as a handout for a D&D 5e campaign I'm playing with my three oldest kids (8, 11 and 13 year olds).
The adventures take place in the world of Argouna, that we are designing and expanding as we play. Basically this is your typical fantasy world seasoned with occasional flying airships, steam engines, clockwork devices and muskets.
The three adventurers were accidentally teleported into a land far far away to the roof top of an abandoned tower. The land the players were teleported to is called Volodor, a once thriving empire that is now in ruins. The tower is called "Iferbeik" in Volodorian - or "Ironspire", if translated into Common speak.
In the tower there was an old adventurer trapped inside. He was very old and had already lost a leg. Because of that he was not able to travel home through the goblin and orc infested ruins and wastelands of Volodor. But the young adventurers have a chance. The old man gave them some good advice and precious tools for their journey, so they could head home safely. But most importantly, he gave them this map.
