Patreon Exclusivity, Early Bird Tiers and New Pricing

Hi, some news and updates as things have moved forward.

Early Bird Tiers and New Pricing (No action required from current patrons)

At first, some of my thoughts for context. 

When I switched from per creation model to the current monthly model on Patreon, I based the tier pricing largely on the per creation model, some statistics, and a lot of guesswork. 

Largely because of the aforementioned reasons, I have started to feel that I'm undervaluing my work, especially with the lower tiers. I don't want to feel that I'm selling too cheap the limited free-time that I could also spend with my family or on other activities (like sleeping :D). I must admit that the unconscious feeling of this has affected my motivation in the past.

I do want my maps and Patreon to be accessible and easy to get on board, but I also need to feel that I'm not understating the value of my skills and time. It has not been an easy decision to make, but in the end, I feel that it is justified to check the pricing of my tiers. After all, I share a public version of all of my maps for free on my website, and there is also a growing collection of public domain high-resolution maps (Thanks to you!), so this should not affect the availability of my maps. 

Early bird tiers.

To have a minimal impact on my current patrons, I decided to go with "early bird tiers". This means that the tiers with the current prices will be set to have a limited number of patrons. After this, these tiers will be sold out and new tiers with the new pricing become available. 

Early bird patrons will have the same benefits and access to content as now, but with lower price. No action is required from you unless you want to switch to another tier.

The early bird tiers and new prices are:

• Explorers – first 100 patrons: $2 per month / new price: $4 per month
• Adventurers – first 60 patrons: $5 per month / new price: $7 per month 
• Heroes –  no change  
• Masterminds –  no change
• Ultrapatrons – no change
   

More Patreon Exclusive Content

Lately, I've been revising how and where I publish new maps and what services and content will I focus on. This has lead to a decision to focus on Patreon above everything else.  

In practice, this means that there will be more content that is exclusively available only to my patrons. This includes, for example:

• High-resolution image files of my maps
• Map variants
• Layered PSD files
• PDFs of single maps

I will not remove my old products on DrivethruRPG for example, but in the future, I will release only collections of my maps in PDF or print-on-demand formats. Single maps or their image files will not be sold separately of the upcoming maps anymore.
