The public collection of the latest map releases is coming a bit late now because of a really tough flu and bronchitis that's been sucking out my energy and kept me away from doing stuff. Lately, I've been dealing with the huge pile of work that accumulated while I was recovering in bed in fever.
Anyways, I'm feeling better now and plans are looking slightly more clear again. There's still stuff to do, and my January's releases are still to be done but should be dealt with over the upcoming weekend.
New Releases
In December and January, I released 6 map packs — 2 fantasy and 4 sci-fi themed. You can see the public versions attached. To access the full map packs with multiple online-ready versions, join my cartographic expeditions and become a patron now. You can find these and over 200 other maps in the archives.
Changes in Rewards & Tiers
In January I made a few updates to my tiers and rewards. I simplified and streamlined a lot of things and added new sci-fi and fantasy specific tiers. Check the details from the tier descriptions.
Extra maps
I also added the concept of extra maps. I do the regular map packs as usual. They come in color with multiple versions and a standard format that I'm iterating every now and then. Extra maps, on the other hand, are quick and/or experimental maps, or some extra content, that I release out of the usual schedule and plans. Often I have a rough plan based on some sketches I have ready, but I might suddenly get an idea and do a map on a coffee break or over one evening.
Upcoming releases
My January's releases are still pending, but I'm going to release at least two map packs before moving on to February's releases.
- Mas Azark – A Star Wars -inspired spaceport built next to an oasis, steep rocks, and a small jungle. This is actually a remake of an older map I did a few years back.
- Rooftops & Alleyways – A top view of a fantasy city with rooftops and alleyways. This map will be great for a rooftop chase or just an overview of an area in your favorite busy fantasy city.
- I have also some extra maps in the works, I'm going to prepare at least two of them for release, but let's see.
February's map poll starts today, but besides the voted map packs I'm making a few Ultra patron requests over the coming months. These include some Call of Cthulhu inspired maps and an Eberron inspired city map (Not Sharn, but a smaller growing city).
