Mas Azark Spaceport

Mas Azark spaceport is a small but busy backwater spaceport. Mostly, it is used as a fueling and maintenance depot for small passenger and cargo ships, and more recently, also as an unofficial mercenary outpost. 

Bekor Beta Star System

Mas Azark is located on a small rocky planet with vast oceans and steep mountain ranges in Bekor Beta star system. 

The system has one star with seven planets: 

• The first planet is a small and hot planet, Tuvah. This is inhabited with no life or atmosphere. 
• The second planet is Azark. This is the only planet in the habitable zone. It has a few settlements, mostly mining sites, and small agricultural or marine colonies. Mas Azark spaceport is not the biggest spaceport or settlement on the planet, but it handles its fair share of traffic. Azark has two small moons, Vigol and Gogol. 
• Beyond Azark there are five small gas giants:  Hasok, Tiok, Lumanar, Sohan, and Xoha. They do not have notable settlements, but some exotigon gas extraction platforms and refineries. 

History of Mas Azark

Originally Mas Azark was a mining settlement excavating amatium inside the mountain. After the amatium reserverves depleted, the settlement was aquired by a religous sect that built a monastery into the old mining tunnels and the side of the mountain. 

The sect attracted the attention of local nobility and a regional ruler, baron Piter Vlado joined the sect and built a  fortress at the base of the monastery to protect the sect and use it as a hiding place, and a secret base for house troops during the civil war. The planet was briefly occupied by enemy forces and the baron Vlado seemed to be fighting a losing battle and did not listen to his commanders. The tide turned when one of baron Vlado's commanders, General Vilto Mora, betrayed him and made a deal with local crime cartels. 

The enemy was repelled with the help of the cartels and General Mora seized control of Mas Azark by naming himself as the High Governor of the city. Governor Mora started building the city of Mas Azark into one of the most important smuggling spaceports in the sector. General Mora has control over the city, but under the mandate of the cartels. 

Recently there's been more unrest in the sector and rivaling slavers and pirates have used the opportunity to attack cargo and passengers transports, which is seriously hurting the smuggling business of the cartels.

Landing pads built on the cliffs and the side of the steep shores of Mas Azark. 

Trading Hub

A market place where merchants buy and sell various goods.

White Whalo Cantina

A popular cantina among the space traders, bountyhunters and scoundrels. The cantina gets its name from a mythical white seamonster that also symbolises a rare catch or deal. The cantina's owner, Jallo Kalo, does not serve to robots. 

Workshops

A small industrial district and junk market west from the spaceport.  Regular spare parts are an easy find, but good luck finding a Daboonian Tesser-X hyperdrive core here.

Administrative building and city guard barracks.

Temple Palace (Old Monastery)

Governor Mora's private palace build high on the mountain side. 

The Barracks

Originally worker and troop barracks, but nowadays a tightly packed residential district where most of the local population lives.  

The Tunnels

The old mining tunnels function as storages, and living quarters for the poor and some species that prefer underground dwellings.  The tunnels also have secret passages from the Temple Palace to the spaceport landing platforms.
