Foundry VTT module news
Added 2020-10-02 09:49:24 +0000 UTCHi patrons!
I made some updates to the Foundry VTT modules. I've received some feedback from Forge vtt users and I've tried to make some improvements based on that. I contacted Kakaroto, the developer of Forge vtt, to get things working better and I got a recommendation that the modules should be installed through the zip method to make sure the assets get optimized properly.
Updates
- First of all, I split the current module vol. 1 to into two separate modules. Volume 1 has 10 maps and volume 2 has 8 (two more coming asap). In the future, each module volume will contain 10 maps.
- I converted all the map files into webp format. These actions were done to manage the size of each module better. The module size dropped now from around 300Mb to 75Mb.
- I also updated the maps to be compatible with the new lighting system introduced in Foundry VTT version 0.7.3. I added some light animations to some maps at the same go.
- Currently, I'm working on the pending maps and I hope to catch up and get them published over the weekend. I have 13 maps to do altogether, so this would mean finishing vol 2 and 3 and publishing vol 4 with one map. Anyways, whatever I got ready by the end of the week, I will update in a new module volume.
- I made a separate post to manage the manifest and download links.
- When I will get the reference sheet (an upcoming quality of life improvement) with all release links and info (map dimensions, square size, etc), I will also add a note which module the map is in.
Thank you for your patience. Stay tuned for more news within the next couple of days.
