About the Sci-Fi and Fantasy Maps
Added 2020-10-07 00:57:36 +0000 UTCSo, I've been thinking about your comments – thank you all for your abundant replies – and this division between sci-fi and fantasy maps in general. This is where I stand now:
I do enjoy making fantasy maps. I'm also a big sci-fi geek and enjoy doing those as well. But here's the thing, there seems to be a huge demand for sci-fi maps and when I'm splitting my focus between sci-fi and fantasy, I feel like I'm not putting my full effort in either one.
Also, in many occasions I have felt that the division between sci-fi and fantasy is a bit artificial. A desert castle could be a Hutt crime lord's palace, a tavern could be a backwater planet's only cantina, and an old mansion can be a corp suit's or noble's estate.
So, this what I'm going to do...
- I will drop the genre division between sci-fi and fantasy.
- I will mainly focus on sci-fi, modern, cyberpunk, post-apocalyptic, and space fantasy maps.
- I will keep on doing fantasy maps, but not with a regular schedule (maybe 1-3 per month).
- I'm going to unpublish the Fantasy Explorer tier soon. Current patrons will retain all current benefits.
- There will be one generic Explorer tier and some tier updates are necessary, but the details are still a work in progress. I'll let you know when I have a solid plan laid out. The updates are likely to take place within the next month or two.
None of these require an action from you now. Please let me know if you have any questions or need help updating or canceling your membership.
Thanks!
That's all for now. I hope you understand the reasoning behind these decisions and I thank you for your support!

I agree with this. I just joined for the sci-fi maps. There's an abundance of creators for fantasy maps but very few for quality sci-fi, so I approve on the modern, sci-fi, cyberpunk focus.
