Just wanted to show you these assets I got prepared for the upcoming maps and these will be published as a separate asset pack later this month.
These will be specifically for the upcoming Factory map, but also for the upcoming modular space station pieces. And about that, I've been thinking about how to make the space ship sections so that they could fit flat deckplan designs AND hard sci-fi design without artificial gravity, which are often more tower-like in their design. My solution will be to make a few central modules with a vertical ladder/elevator/tube for movement between levels and to have (possibly a variant) a ladder and/or hatch instead of a connecting doorway. This way you could stack modules to create ship plans like Rocinante from The Expanse with ease.
Also, I have a plan to make a separate Foundry module for these at some point.
Finally, now that I've made Foundry VTT modules and extra map variants for around six months, and map assets for around a month (now with 100+ assets and counting), I feel like I need to readjust my tiers a bit to reflect their benefits and time consumption, but also my own values. After making the recent currency change I started to think about my tier pricing and the reasons for it.
To be honest, I'm doing this out of passion and I think I've been misdirected to think of Patreon as another storefront and tried to align the pricing with my map packs sold elsewhere. I know that many of you are supporting me because you want to just support my work. Not to buy products. And I feel like I've, unintentionally, started treating you like "customers", when you are actually much more than that.
It happens to be so that I just got an interesting proposal and this kind of gave me the final nudge to become certain about some things I've been ruminating on recently.
Especially in the current world situation, I feel like you should be more in control to decide how much you want to support my work without the feel of forced paywalls and still be able to invest in other tools and services that let you play role-playing games online, for example. To correct these things that I feel are not reflecting my own values and intentions, require me to take action and readjust the tiers.
Readjusting the tiers will take a little time (because of Patreon's clumsy interface :) ), and I'd like to avoid doing this again anytime soon, but there's been happening so much during such a short time-frame that I feel like pushing this forward would just make the change more difficult in future. I also need to carefully think through the benefits, so they are also in line with the Finnish crowdfunding regulations.
More about this likely over the weekend. No action is required now. Instructions will follow, and I'm pretty sure, you will be happy about the upcoming tweaks and additions.
Thanks!
