How Should I Expand My Creations in 2021?
Added 2020-11-20 14:18:02 +0000 UTCHi everyone,
During this year I have started making battle maps for virtual tabletops, especially for Roll20 and Foundry VTT, and just recently I started making props. While I haven't released yet any asset/prop packs, they are coming before the end of November and I'm sure there will be more on monthly basis in the future. I've also started finally working on some modular map sections (the first batch coming out soon!)
But, what's next?
For example, I have been looking into animated maps, character tokens, and creating a patrons-only content library for my website. But is there something else you would like to see?
I'm not looking for specific map ideas, but how to expand my offering to you. What do you need in your games or what would help you to have better gaming experiences or save time?
I've listed some ideas below, but feel free to add your suggestions in the comments below. Please note that you can vote for multiple options.
I must add that this all is still speculative at this point and I do not have a timeline set up.
This all depends very much on how my plans to become a full-time RPG cartographer and content creator proceed. I'm working very hard to close the final gap required for this.
If I was a full-time creator, I would have multiple times more time to dedicate to creating new content instead of the limited hours in the evenings or early mornings. If you would like to help me out to reach this goal, please share my work or recommend my Patreon, or maps on Roll20 marketplace or DrivethruRPG to someone you know.
Thank you!

Map assets are already coming anyway. Especially Star Wars and Alien inspired stuff. I'm currently working on a big batch of 100+ scifi-assets and making some drafts for next month's Cyberpunk maps. (I might give a shot at a few experimental character tokens too)

I've been thinking of this and had plans to do some templates for letters, telegrams, tavern notice boards, etc. But that didn't quite work because of the limited time I have as a part-time creator and I decided to prioritize maps. But, I hope this will change in 2021, if I can switch to full-time cartographer and RPG content creator as planned.

2020-11-21 19:03:13 +0000 UTCI thought of another suggestion you didn't put on the poll. I would also love a collection of generic props. Imagine things like a hand-drawn treasure map torn into two pieces, or a creature or person listed in a far future encyclopedia, or a drawing of a particular shelf from a wizard's library. Also, types of maps not normally seen in RPG adventure write-ups, like geologic maps, political maps, climate maps, etc. For example: http://homepage.ufp.pt/biblioteca/GeolSettingSeisInterpre/GeologicSetting%26SeismicInterpretation/Images/Plate015-GeologicalMap.jpg https://eurasiangeopolitics.files.wordpress.com/2014/08/armenian-political-map.gif https://i.pinimg.com/originals/35/90/1f/35901fa38ce2fe7b3692d1661e79623f.png
