A Question About Deckplans...
Added 2021-02-12 10:48:09 +0000 UTCHi everyone,
I've been trying to figure out how to make more deckplans for various spaceship designs. In this case, I'm mostly talking about small to medium-sized ships that can be visualized with a single map. For larger ships and space stations I'm working on the modular ship sections (They are coming! Sorry for the delay)
I've been thinking about something like a "Deckplan-a-Month", but let's see. Honestly, I'd like to do more than one per month :D
Anyways, the question is that for what kind of deckplans (and general tech level) you would have use for?
- Space opera style deckplans that are almost always horizontal in design and based more on aesthetics than real physics. All ships have artificial gravity and most have energy shields. Engines might be non-existent, very small, or just for the looks. Example: Star Wars, Star Trek, Mass Effect, Starfinder...
- Hard sci-fi deckplans with a vertical deck layout and based on zero-gravity conditions or artificial gravity effect produced with acceleration G-forces. No energy shields or FTL-drives whatsoever. Example: The Expanse, Space Odyssey, Eclipse Phase...
- Soft sci-fi deckplans with mostly realistic designs and big engines and thrusters, but often with a horizontal deck layout because of artificial gravity. Ships can also have energy shields, FTL-drives, and such technology. Example: Aliens, Halo, Firefly, Traveller...
Just as a note, regardless of the results of the poll, I'll probably do some for all of these catagories eventually, but prioritize them based on the results.

Hard scifi deck plans are always so hard to find, any ones you make would be very much appreciated!
