Map Scale and Level of Detail Poll
Added 2021-05-07 21:01:55 +0000 UTCIn 2019 I did a this poll last time and I thought it would be a good time to do this poll again.
For the past year or so I’ve been doing mostly tactical scale maps and the level of detail has increased at the same time as the scale has gotten smaller.
What kind of scale and level of detail you prefer or need most often in your games?
- Tactical scale has been the default lately and the level of detail allows zooming close to individual characters.
- Building scale maps can have character level grid, but the level of detail is limited to the main features in a room or area.
- City maps fit a single city or larger settlement. Details are usually limited to buildings and dominant terrain features.
- Regional scale can fit a building or even a small town in one square or hex. The level of detail is usually limited to prominent terrain features and points-of-interest.
- Sector or space maps comprising of a handful of neighboring star systems.
Vote all options your are mostly interested in.
All kinds of feedback is also very welcome in the comments, thanks!
Take care,
Miska

80% of maps I use would be tactical, but I have very hard time getting larger scale maps. I would love to have city/region/sector maps peppered in with the rest.
