Hi everyone,
There was some unplanned work at the beginning of the month and while working on other stuff I've thought about my current release model and workflow.
---
TL;DR: Astraterra RPG is finally available in English (product link above and discount link below) and I'm going to change my release model to a more free-form model instead of the monthly themes.
---
Edit: The discount link was wrong, fixed now.
Some unplanned events lead to me being hijacked by the preparations of Astraterra role-playing game's release. The preparations took more time and effort than I expected, but now the core rulebook for this steam fantasy RPG is published and available to English-speaking players.
Astraterra is a steam fantasy RPG mixing elements from fantasy, steampunk, and science fantasy. I think you could also count the game to be a part of the "arcanepunk" genre. Astraterra was originally created and developed by me and my kids (ages 5 to 9 at that time). We could not find an RPG in Finnish that would have suited for kids out of the box, so we made one and published the 1st edition in 2014. Over the years my kids grew and so did Astraterra. The 2nd edition of Astraterra was published in 2018 in Finnish and it had developed into a family-friendly adventure RPG instead of being just a kids' RPG. The English edition has been in the works for a couple of years already and there have been a few setbacks over the years. Now I had everything so close to done that I did not want to push the release any further.

I have been doing some self-reflecting and tried to analyze the results of the past few months. I have to admit it that I just cannot work effectively if there are some set topics or themes. These creative boundaries kill my creative flow and I tend to get stuck. This is not a new thing to me, but still, I wanted to give it one more try when I switched to working full-time on cartography.
I won't even try to continue the monthly theme release model anymore, it just doesn't work for me, and I'm switching immediately to a more free-form workflow.
In practice, this means that I will continue working on the current "storylines" and themes, but with the freedom to work on something else on the side if my creativity requires it.
This month I have still in the works two more deckplans (large-scale) and a sci-fi heavy metal bar. Also, I have some Mythos Maps ready for release.
Lastly, I would like to remind you of the patrons-only survey. Currently, I'm at 88 responses and it would be nice to get at least 100 responses collected. I would like to emphasize that this is not the same survey that I did in August, which was open for everyone. This survey is only for patrons of Miska's Maps.
