Kickstarter Highlight: The Secret World

OK, here's a project I'm personally excited about, and I even might have some stake in it too...

The Secret World is a new TTRPG setting based on a MMORPG of the same name, and soon it will be available for the 5th Edition!

It comes with tons of new rules and character options for modern urban occult and action adventures.

The Setting

The setting is grounded in our contemporary world but also incorporates pieces of ancient mythologies, real and alternative history, urban legends, and pop culture and ties them into an original backstory.

The game comes with plenty of information about the setting. Factions, important locations, historical events, and the current state of things for the heroes and people struggling to survive in the Secret World help you to immerse in this dangerous and intriguing world.

The Heroes

There are 9 new classes for the heroes. There are also new backgrounds, feats, and factions. Factions are especially important as these are the forces fighting against cosmic horrors and occult threats.

The three factions are the Dragon, the Templar, and the Illuminati.

Besides other new rules and options, there is an interesting mechanic which makes the heroes very hard to kill. Each time your character dies, they return to life later... but each time they recover, they inch closer to a fate far worse than death.

Maps by Miska's Maps!

Currently, the Kickstarted is very close to reaching its most important stretch goal: Maps by Miska's Maps! Hah :D Just kidding. But for real, at the moment of writing this post, the campaign is very close to a $100K mark, which unlocks some faction HQ maps for the setting made by yours truly.
