Announcing: Miska's Cyberpunk Maps

Hi everyone,

I hope you are having a great Friday. Before moving to the weekend, I have an announcement to make. Based on a lot of feedback from over the past three years...

I have soft-launched a new Patreon focusing exclusively on cyberpunk and hard sci-fi maps.

You can find it here: www.patreon.com/cyberpunkmaps

The word is just getting out, and you are the first to know. The tiers start at $1 per map pack, but there is a discount-hacked Early Punk Special version of the highest Cyber Ninja tier. It is available for a limited time only. In case cyberpunk maps are your thing, recommend you grab that!

The exact focus is still clarifying, but I will start with urban near-future maps with cyberpunk aesthetics and some space-themed maps based on realistic physics – i.e., something you could find in the Cyberpunk RED or Eclipse Phase universes.

Why a Separate Patreon, and Why Cyberpunk Maps?

I've been aware of the situation that my Patreon offers a wide variety of different maps for various settings. While this is ok for most of you, it's not for everyone.

Science fiction is a bit tricky as there are quite different sub-genres or branches of sci-fi that do not have much common ground.

For example, maps inspired by Mos Eisley on Tatooine are very hard to fit into Cyberpunk RED campaigns. And conversely, it can be difficult to fit a modern-looking suburban house into your Star Wars campaign.

In a recent poll (and some other sources I've been looking into), I recognized that cyberpunk and hard science fiction (e.g., spaceships with no artificial gravity, etc) have a clear demand, and I feel that offering mixed content is not the most appealing choice and it does not provide the best possible value to patron subscribed for this content.

I tried to figure out a way to offer cyberpunk content within this Patreon, but I could not find a satisfying and sustainable solution. So, I decided to set up a new Patreon based on the per-creation model. This allows me to work on the cyberpunk maps when I have extra time or offer specific variants of a certain map.

What About Miska's Sci-Fi Maps (this Patreon)?

There is no change to the release schedule or content of this Patreon.

Not related to Cyberpunk Maps, I do have a new Star Wars campaign starting, and I would assume this will affect the produced maps to some extent. But I will have polls regularly, as previously, and you will have a say in the direction this Patreon will take.

What If I Want Both the Cyberpunk Maps and Sci-Fi Maps?

Any maps that suit space opera or sci-fi, in general, will be published through this Patreon. However, if there are maps specific to the cyberpunk genre, those will be published through Cyberpunk Maps only.

Starlord tier is an exception to this. Starlords will also get Cyberpunk Maps-specific releases as extra rewards. (Same goes with Mythos Maps)

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I would be happy to hear any feedback or suggestions.

Thank you very much for your support, and have a great weekend!

Thanks! These happen to be very much in line with plans I have outlined for the upcoming months. Some, like a few hangars, already exist in my catalog. And there will be some clone wars / jedi related content too.

If it helps to understand your audience, I primarily use your maps for Star Wars. I'm running an Edge of the Empire campaign, but I'm also injecting some Civil War content as my crew will be running mercenary missions against the Empire as well. Some of the content I'd love to get includes: - Asteroid bases, like the various Skips at Smuggler's Run - Various starship hangars and side facilities across the Outer Rim - Imperial bases, outposts, complexes, remote HQs - Anything inspired from The Mandalorian, Andor, Book of Boba Fett, Rogue One, Star Wars Rebels, etc.

Nice ! I'm in 😄 I'll still keep lurking on this side of the patreon as the game I play is a mix of cyberpunk and space opera for spaceships / space stations.
